Yeah, I'd say Lightning rivals it

Maybe not Squall for a five year period since he only makes one final regardless of which five years you pick

She still has an impressive top 15 streak going. I believe 7 straight now. Not sure if anyone else can boast that.

Laguna had a really solid 4 year stretch, but he also had two really bad placements around it (62/75 in CVIII, 49/75 in CXIII)

ah, Kuja had 8 top 15s in a row, so she has a chance to tie it next content. I don't think anyone else has that many in a row.

Aerith has a truly fascinating contest history... she went from like a solid upper mid carder to a nigh unstoppable BEAST. Congrats to her fans for another great year, but NGL I'm kind of relieved to not see her make another final.

I'm at work until tomorrow basically, but other than Kotetsu, a bunch of people like Kaelee who only vote once or twice per round, Suprak(?), and Martin/Poke once Garnet was safe I honestly have no idea who's been keeping her alive up to this point, but my condolences to you all.

I honestly don't know where you go after he dies since 8+8 would be dead at that point and that scares me

they are currently having a logistical discussion on whether it's okay if there is a predetermined dump-off point that doesn't threaten a finals appearance

I understand. It's hard to root for anyone wearing a when you've tried and failed to get your boy (twice) and your girl one (thrice) so I get it. I have no delusions about my guy making it much further, I just want 10th for a multitude of reasons.

Snowball Fight #Twenty Hate - Aerith Gainsborough

Ritz had had enough of the nameless city and nearby high ground, so she decided to try her hand at another tavern. After driving her accessory-to-murder white Corolla for quite some time, she once again donned Layle's clothing and wig, and strolled inside the pub that she found. It was a quiet place, just off the highway, and after having a virgin Honey B Deadly cocktail, she wandered over to the jobs board. There was a wanted poster for a girl who she recognized as Aerith Gainsborough, partially because she had played Final Fantasy 7, and partially because the wanted poster said her name on it. The poster read as follows:

BOUNTY: Aerith Gainsborough
Brown-haired girl must be brought to justice for crimes against other characters' statistics and positions in finals. Reward is surviving the round that she perishes in.

Ritz decided to take the job, her mind once again scratching the surface of the fourth wall. If she was already alive and hadn't perished herself, that meant that she had survived the latest round. Why was this bounty here? Paradoxes danced through her thoughts but she decided to ignore them and get on her way.

She travelled to the location listed on the poster, a nondescript completely isolated field - a strange place for a girl to reliably be. Ritz wandered around aimlessly in search of Aerith, unsure of where to look. There was long grass everywhere in this otherwise flat terrain, so she thought that it would be relatively easy, but it was in fact extremely difficult.

At a point, she tripped over something and realized that it was the back, blunted edge of a long blade - good thing that she hadn't tripped over the front. Her eyes followed the length of the sword and she pushed the grass aside in either direction - in front of her lay Aerith's corpse, a long sword that she now realized was Masamune stuck through her chest. Ritz began to feel unsettled - she had her answer to the question of why she was still around, but more things didn't make sense. Sephiroth had perished long ago, she saw his name in the Smiffficia graveyard! Aerith dies but it was supposed to be at her hand, and at the mercy of the angels of grace that were her snowballs!

She checked around the body and much to her surprise she found a wet spot, with small fragments of ice that hadn't melted. Beside the body also lay a wig - a blond one specifically, that looked identical to her power bottom wig. She considered the evidence. Had she been here already and killed Aerith? Occam's razor would suggest so, but she had her wig stashed away in her car - what was this one? The fourth wall briefly quivered and Ritz realized that she was getting recognition for the kill. She had absolutely no fucking clue what was happening, but because her reality had been fucked with more than once before, she had no choice but to accept it and move on. For good measure, she gatling gun'd a handful of snowballs at Aerith's corpse, performing an extreme overkill. Then she did it again out of frustration for not personally being the one to end this girl's life. And again, and again. If she couldn't end Aerith's life, the least she could do was commit a different violent crime.

Ritz panted with exhaustion after brutalizing the body and before leaving, she took the Masamune, trusting that it would come in handy later. Upon getting back in the driver's seat of her stellar white Corolla, she grabbed her Montblanc plush and hugged it tight, still disturbed by these recent events. Something was afoot, and she needed to figure out what.

no way the Masamune is fitting in the Corolla so my headcanon is she has it hanging out the passenger window at decapitation height for any unwary pedestrian

An intriguing twist in the Ritz canon

Shes a master of disguise after all! And shes mastered the Assassin job and has mastery over katanas of any size - in fact she has already wielded Masamune in Ivalice so the transitive property applies here

The real twist is that it's actually Frog's Masamune

I definitely like the idea of Ritz just carrying it out her car window like she's driving home an oversized 2x4 from home depot
