There was an animated show on comedy central back in the early 2010s I think. It only had 1 season. I think it was called Ugly Americans. Was kinda like Bojack Horseman, where a bunch of weird creatures live alongside humans. One of the main characters was a human man who was dating a female demon, and I think 1 episode he had to go to hell and meet her dad over dinner

I'm probably the only one that was happy with Felurian and Kvothe and for all intents and purposes the fae in Rothfuss story feel more like demons than elves or fairies or whatever.

It really depends on what demon means in the context of the setting.

Like in Buffy the Vampire Slayer demon basically just means non-human magic entity. And while a great many are evil their is nothing inherently evil about them and it's entirely possible to have a totally healthy relationship with them.

You go over to the Forgotten Realms and demons are evil, full-stop. You could maybe have a romantic relationship with one but, there is no way it is even remotely healthy. Like it is going to end up hurting you and probably those around you. And any attempt to portray it any other way would feel actively wrong.

Depends on the demon. Are we dealing with demons that are inherently evil or just magical creatures that trend toward evil but it's not inherent?

If you're going to go out of the way to make the love interest a demon, I'd prefer their demon nature to play some sort of role in the relationship.

I don't really mind if they make it bad or good, but it should cause some sort of complication in the relationship that has to be overcome.

I'm reading a romcom manga that almost has that, it says almost cause the angel has no chance as the MC only has eyes for the demon even though she's not as great as the angel.

Depends on what demons generally are lore wise in their respective universes. The most common like In DmC or K-pop demon hunters is that 99.9% of them are mindless monsters that can never co-exist with humanity.

Even if they wanted too. Especially in the latter where they need human souls either for necessity or pleasure. It was never really made clear in the movie.

there are some Japanese stories with multiple romantic options including angel (or Goddess) and devil (e.g. Shuffle!) or harem series with both included (Outlaw Tamer and his S-rank catgirl) and then there is the split personality angel/devil girl

I think My Monster Secret/Actually I am also counts though the main focus is on human and a Vampire, an Alien, a Wolfman, etc
