I've only gotten a license relatively recently. I need oil in my car.

> Follow those steps
> Check owner's manual for type of oil needed
> Find exactly that type of oil at Walmart, word-for-word identical to what the owner's manual says
> Still 30% convinced the engine will fall out of my car the first time I drive it after putting this oil in it

I feel ya. It looks like youre doing a good job addressing anything that might cause car issues, if its any help to hear that from an outside observer.

You did drain the old oil as well, right?

The color of the oil looks...fine? It's just low. I'll probably need to add some even if I play to get it fully changed later.

I only have what I call big picture anxiety which is so frustrating. I can handle normal day-to-day stuff no problem.

But trying to figure out like a job, relationships, a home, etc.? Forget about it.

What makes it even more annoying is that it all stems from money, or lack of money.

What kind of engine do you have? Particularly with rotary engines (rare in North America), they burn off oil during normal operation. It's also possible you might have a tiny leak somewhere in the engine, but those generally aren't catastrophic.

Doing something that only needs to be done once a year gives me anxiety. Then I'm like, "Hey, that wasn't so bad. It'll be easier next year." and then I fucking forget everything about it within the year and get anxiety again.

It's a 2010 Sentra, I don't know how to answer any other question lol.

The only thing that made me think to check the oil is that it stalled out on me last night. I was backing out of a parking spot and the gas just suddenly stopped working. It was fine after I restarted the engine and it's been fine since, but it spooked me.

The oil and battery lights came on when it happened, but google/reddit says that always happens when a car stalls because the things they measure also stop happening when it stalls.
