Beetlejuice came out on top of my (poorly implemented) Tim Burton film poll... PO suggested a proper bracket which I welcome anyone else to endeavor as I lack the wherewithal

The poll was meant to pit Burton's directorial efforts against each other in movie-al kombat but winter and others demand justice for The Nightmare Before Christmas (not directed by Burton) so here we are...

Nightmare feels so overrated and has the benefit of Halloween fans enjoying it as well.
Beetlejuice is a fun film. Michael Keaton is amazing in it.
Nightmare always bores me, especially with the music. The look is incredible, you can't deny that.

Nightmare Before Christmas is incredibly overrated, but Millennials watched it as kids and therefore will never stop fellating it.

I'd definitely vote for Beetlejuice, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, and Batman before I'd vote for Nightmare.

Nightmare wasn't directed by Burton, so how was it unfairly excluded in a poll regarding movies directed by Burton? The quick answer is it wasn't. The long answer is it wasn't.

To be fair I wasn't clear about the focus on directorial efforts with the initial post, so I took winter and PO's posts as fair criticism of how poorly I constructed the polls.

Ultimately I don't give a shit because they're arbitrary polls about something silly I threw together out of boredom, although I would be interested in seeing the results were someone to go through the fuss of making a proper bracket.

Part of the reason I got inspired to do the poll is that Wikipedia lists a nice, neat 20 films under Burton's directorial belt. Two polls of 10. Just liked how the numbers rounded out to fit the polls. But I admit that a proper bracket would be more interesting

I never saw beetlejuice and I only saw Nightmare before Christmas as an adult. I can see why people that watched it as a kid would still love it as an adult, but it's not for me

I'm just saying it was clear to me that you picked movies directed by Burton.

Burton was one of three writers for Nightmare and yet fans act that he created the whole thing single handedly.

I'd definitely vote for Beetlejuice,

Both films are incredibly overrated. Deal with it. Or don't, because I don't really care.

The mythos surrounding the films tends to give him the lion's share of the credit. I'm not sure what his actual level of involvement was, although he was credited with a wide number of things associated with the film.
