Near cart return for me.

I park at the back cuz there's always space, and i don't mind walking farther to the store

In one of the spots with the trees.

If not available, somewhere in that area because I'm a creature of habit and it'd bother me to go to the other side.

It depends on how cooperative my fucked up back is. Good days, near a cart return, even if it's at the end of the lot. Bad days, it's as close as possible (but never in a handicap spot, unless I'm driving my parents in their vehicle....because they have the tag due to their mobility issues).

The closest space I can get that isn't going to be a pain in the arse to reverse into.

Usually I'll walk so I can carry more

As close to the exit as possible.

I dont mind getting in some extra steps if it means that itll make it so much easier to leave when Im done.

Far because shopping cattle are the worst.

As close to a cart return as possible without it being directly next to it so my car doesnt get dinged from all the carts people throw at the return.

I like to park as close to the exit as I can, as I'd rather have a shorter walk to the car when I'm carrying/pushing something. I generally have good luck getting a reasonable spot, but I don't spend a lot of time trying to find the "perfect" one.

I just drive into the store, grab what I need from the window, pull up to a cash register, buy my stuff, then drive away.

If it's not the nearest then I path around on the route to the exit.

I park in BFE when I drive and at a bike rack when I ride.

Right next to a cart return a ways out from the store. It has nothing to do with returning the cart. I like putting the cart return on my passenger side door to prevent someone from parking too close on the side I load my groceries into my truck so I can open the door fully. I use the passenger side because that is the side closest to my house side door when I back in the garage.

By parking out a ways it also prevents people from parking next to my driver side door allowing me to fully open my driver door with no issues. I like not having people next to me on my drivers side.

I live in a very low population area in farm county and do my groceries on Monday or Tuesday on my days off so generally the parking lot is mostly empty anyway at 1100 on a Monday. Just a few retired people and non working spouses or the rare person with a non traditional schedule like me.

there's a great lane of spaces that is in the shade from the trees lining the walkway and has a cart return in the middle of it, so i always try to park there.

Wherever the columns, walls, medians, stripes, etc. allow a solo spot, or at least only the possibility of one neighbor. Failing that, far away.

I prefer to park at the end of a row, away from other vehicles.

Close to the back, where theres less cars. Dont have to worry about accidentally hitting another car somehow, or some kid running into me before I can react (I know you need to check blind spots every time anyway, still)

Close to the store if it is available, but Im never going to be one of those people who drives around for 5 minutes looking for a good spot. If its there, great. If not, Im parking further back and getting on with my day.

Grocery stores are open season for car dings and scratches. **** that ****.

Next to the cart return that's closest to the entrance. I work at said grocery store, and start at 4am, so the parking lot is largely empty other than other people who work that early or earlier. The people who work overnight and are gone by the time the store opens don't always park within the lines in the parking lot, so I don't want to park next to them, and be accidentally poorly parked as a result, and having a large physical thing on the passenger side is easier to lineup with than a line of paint on the ground.

Anywhere with shade.

Next to a cart return in an open spot halfway across the parking lot, where I don't need to back into, or park next to cars.

Note I go in when the doors open. Which is 6 AM

If it isn't raining heavily, which it rarely does here, I will park near the back, away from other people. I don't mind walking a little extra to keep my car from getting dinged by the hoardes of mouth breathers here in Bakersfield.

I'm amused at the idea of you parking at the farthest point of any lot you're in that puts you closest to their car, several states away.

I get them delivered, I don't have a car. Back when I did, I typically parked as close to the entrance as I could.

near carts especially as I have a bad leg now. It helps to hang onto it or push it

I dont go to the grocery store as a general rule. But if I do, I walk.

I generally try to park in the middle of the row since usually the ends are competing with more pedestrians (closer to entrance) or just higher likelihood of accident (if closer to the road). So... those spots. I guess somewhere in between? Might be close to a cart corral idk

When it comes to parking lots, I am a devout Baptist.

I usually walk to the grocery store and carry back 2-3 bags of stuff. There's like 5 within a 15 minute walk of me.
