Default is easiest for navigation. If I'm trying to identify something in particular like the locations of buildings or landmarks, then I'll use satellite. When I was moving cross-country and had to figure out which gas stations could accommodate a U-haul truck towing an auto trailer behind it, a combo of satellite and street view was very handy for confirming how much drivable space was available. --- This is my signature.
