Rumors that Firefly is getting a buff.

Seems weird to me, but I have no E0 Firefly experience. E2S0 Firefly is already one of the best characters in the game at that investment level (before Phainon came and muddied the waters with his E2 nonsense).

Well the rumor is that she's getting buffed a year from now, so she could be in a worse spot then.
As she is now, she's not on the level of the Amphoreus DPS, but she's not unusable either. I regularly still use her in MoC and AS, depending on the bosses.

She has trouble with some of the newer bosses though. Action advance and toughness lock both screw break teams over really hard.

I think that's more that the enemies are in fact meant to counter break teams. In high level content without that limitations she's still killing it.

Though admittedly I did invest pretty heavily in Break. I don't ever hear anyone talking about Lingsha lol.

Lingsha is still pretty good she just doesn't really fit with any of the current teams because she's either too SP reliant or doesn't work with their gimmicks well.

And the current DPS are so strong they don't need the extra DPS she brings over the SP positivity from Gallagher.

Too SP reliant means nothing to E2 Firefly!

i have e0 firefly (who was basically my carry through the entire game to that point) and basically benched her immediately upon getting castorice because 3.x encounter design is not friendly to her. at least in my experience

Actually logged in to do Pure Fiction. 24k on side 1 with double Herta and...Silver Wolf, and 40k on side 2 with Castorice. There's probably a better combination or team here, but oh well. I don't really have much well suited to either of these encounters and DoT is non-existent on my account.

Super Break teams have been solid in Apocalyptic Shadow, serviceable but definitely not optimal in Memory of Chaos, and laughable in Pure Fiction since 3.0 for me. I have e0s0 Firefly, e0s1 Rappa, e1s0 Ruan Mei, and e0s0 Fugue (also Harmony MC of course). I am missing Lingsha.

Silver Wolf can go on almost any team as a strong debuffer now, if you have her she's super valuable.

Oh yeah in regards to the 'how do you tell if you lost the 50/50 or not on Blade'- They made it so that if you pull Blade, you are considered to have won the 50/50.

In essence, you just have a slightly higher chance to win the 50/50 on Blade's banner if you have him selected for the loss pool.

My understanding of the 50/50 thing ever since they started posting the odds and people used that to reverse engineer how the gacha worked now that they had more numbers in front of them:

When you hit a SSR there's a 50% chance you get the banner character right there. If you fall in the other 50% instead what it actually does is give you, at random, one of 8 characters: the 7 general/celestial invitation pool... or still the banner character. So even if you "fail" the 50/50 there's still a 1 in 8 chance you get the banner character anyway because they still actually are in the pool of characters the game picks randomly from - and you just never would know it. So it's truly more of a 56-44 in favor of the banner character. Regardless of how you get the banner character, once you do get them it resets the 50/50 status - so even in the hypothetical where you fail the 50/50 but got lucky to win in them in the 1/8 not only can you not possibly know this on player side but the game itself counts this as you getting the banner character and not a 50/50 loss so pity is reset.

For Blade specifically, there's been a note in the Celestial Invitation selection screen since it was introduced that covered this scenario where the banner character is also in Celestial Invitation and I don't have it in front of me but I think it tilts the odds further in your favor. I think it effectively makes the 50/50 "loss" a 2-in-8 chance because Blade would be repped twice there - but I could be wrong on this and it instead resolves to 1-in-7 (I think it's the 2-in-8 one but idk) but either way that would be a slight boost in odds over the normal situation. Either 63-37 or 57-43.

But this is me going off the math work of people who looked into this far more deeply than I did.

Ahaha new endgame mode leaked and it sounds like it's the equivalent of Genshin's Stygian Onslaught (ultra hard whale content for mainly cosmetic rewards).

The reaction in Genshin was bad enough but I can't imagine what the HSR equivalent will be

I don't know how hard "ultra-hard" means but even as an F2P (though playing mostly since launch) I'm thrilled about the idea of hard endgame content with tangible rewards. Right now every endgame mode is an afterthought and it feels like anything I'm doing is just to drive the score up or whatever.

For Genshin there was like a single digit number of clears that didnt involve teams that were 5*s at 0 or higher Cs with their signature weapons I think. I couldnt even clear it and Ive been playing Genshin for 5 years

Yeah there's 6 difficulties for it in Genshin. Gem rewards stop at 3. 4 and 5 give artifact materials. I maxed out at 4. 5 is doable F2P if you're really good and have the characters and builds. 6 is for cosmetics and bragging rights and the one even whales struggle with but there are some lower cost clears around.

That said, Genshin and HSR's design philosophies differ in that Genshin strongly encourages horizontal investment (and specific units) and HSR encourages vertical, so we'll see how it goes.

The current leak suggests you have to 0-cycle to clear the boss for the new endgame mode, it only unlocks after clearing all 3 other endgame modes for that cycle, and doesn't reward jades, only an avatar.

I am getting so many double crit arcadia planars on HP%/Ice and I'm not even planning to pull you-know-who. Jack shit for Phainon. The desire sensor is being extraordinarily cruel to me.

FINALLY

They say "for Archer", but an SP recovery set is a gamechanger for a ton of teams depending on how it works.

Phainon teams also eat SP like crazy (and me having just pulled Sunday's LC lol). Could also be useful for dot though less so now that Hysliens has natural SP recovery. Really it's about time we got an option like this.

Also a dedicated set for RMC is nice, all but confirms Cyrene will be RMC pro max too if they share the same set.

Yeah, in an ideal world I want to go Kafka -> Evernight -> Cyrene but right now I'm sitting on probably ~160-180 pulls and Kafka alone could bankrupt me if unkind. The latter two would presumably have a rerun sooner than Kafka too so I can't really back off on her I think.

Personally I would highly advise against Kafka if you're gonna skip Hysliens and if you don't have Black Swan. She is now basically an amplifier for those two that steals their dps for herself. DOT is a package deal now.

I've invested so much in dot that Hysliens is mandatory for me but it's Cerydra that's fucking everything up. I could wait for her to rerun but getting Hyacine for Castorice has been the best pulling decision I've made in this game so I've learned my lesson about skipping tailor-made supports...

Yeah legit they made Aventurine so good it would have been hard to introduce a new Preservation character that wasnt massively power creeped.

And since new Dan is both free and appears to fill a niche opposite of Aventurine's (leaks say he's very compatible with rapid turn progression and advancement characters), looks like they found a way to make it work and justify them not being super powercreep busted...theoretically.

He's allegedly supposed to be good for Phainon, and will wear the new SP set so presumably Archer as well. I'm guessing he'll have less sustain than max shield Aventurine but more damage? And some sort of team targeting abilities to give Phainon stacks? I'm very curious how they'll set the two apart.

Anaxa is a "sub-dps" who also turned out to be one of the best carries in the game so it's not too unreasonable to hope for a repeat
