Makes me think they're trying to get ahead of apocalyptic news for Gaza. We're at the point where mass deaths from starvation are very close provided the situation doesn't change, so I can only hope it's not as bad as it looks.

They really don't care. It'll be just a collective of "thoughts and prayers" in political speech.

The response up until now has basically just been "Israel should be allowed to do whatever" so if they're trying to get ahead of something it's gonna have to be big. Like, an ongoing genocide hasn't been enough, I don't know what kind of apocalypse might actually be needed to create the feeling of "getting ahead of a story"

My thoughts exactly.

We've had articles on like CNN about their "detention camps" and massacres of civilians trying to get flour and it didn't change things so I can't imagine what else could "come out" to change people's tune.

If only they cared last year, you know when they could have done something.

They're probably just pretending to care now since Israel has basically gotten most of what it wants already done.

Israel is panicking at all the photos coming out of emaciated children. They're starting to do airdrops of flour and sugar, but they really need to do at least 600 trucks per day. They're only managing about half of that so far per WEEK.

I think they care enough. Normally they wouldn't even get anywhere close to saying something negative about Israel. It has to be something really bad if they're acting like this.

Both the US and Israel are now independently confirming that UN food is not being stolen by Hamas in any widespread or systematic fashion.

The fact is, Israel has won the conflict militarily. Hamas has crumbled and its leaders are dead. The chain of command has been obliterated. It's now an occupying force that is subjecting a captive population to increasing brutality and genocide.

All the rules of war say they need to send in aid. Enough is enough

In the end, all the rules of anything don't mean shit if those who deliberately break them don't get punished for doing so. Unless Netanyahu is forcibly stripped of his office, imprisoned, or otherwise removed from power, he will never give up his twisted dream of turning Gaza into a graveyard, and the same goes for the people who are propping him up (both within and without Israel).

The end result is like having all of the hate over US imperialism and misadventures in Iraq magnified by at least 10 onto the entire Jewish diaspora.

Even 600 trucks would be inadequate. Gaza needed 500 trucks of food delivered per day before the war, when it had a functioning agricultural system.
