I feel like I only experience this with alcohol and never with other food or drink.

I had port for the first time on the weekend and I absolutely hated it, I could only taste cough medicine. This is the third night with this bottle and it doesn't taste like cough medicine anymore, it's quite nice.

Ive given up on trying to like alcohol at all. Ill still drink at a party or if someone wants to go out and do so because taste isnt really the point anyways but it never tastes better to me no matter how many attempts.

I had to teach myself to like beer, but everything else that I drink I liked from the start. There are things I dont enjoy though, like gin.

I dunno. It's different for everyone, it's like smoking green. I'd say the sugar crash and alcohol isn't a good mix overall. Mixing Jack Daniels and Coca Cola is cool, but I bought this Smirnoff Blueberry and Lemonade drink like an idiot more than a few times even though it tasted terrible. Not sure why I kept doing it. I might not like things including....

I am just finishing off some okay beer. It's not fantastic. It's Citmo IPA: Resurgence. Usually these kinda beers are terrible, but it's just the right amount of bullshit hops. I also am sick of drinking domestic beer or as ya said I don't like porters or like freaking Guinness. What the hell is that.

It is the cause and solution to a lot of problems. Just have people around you who don't give a shit if you drink regularly (even a couple drinks) and don't work a stressful job. I am not sure how Ric Flair is doing life, but he did pass out in the ring once doing a figure four recently in his "retirement" match which I can see if maybe a person wasn't sleeping well. But still in a ring during that hype moment.

Anyhow whatever, I used to binge responsibly. It's a tool in life that shouldn't be abused and if not needed, well that works too.

Light drink, I think one drink is enough to know. Generally, these suck or are good due to the flavor, since the alcohol barely exists at all on them. I hate every beer I've tried but stuff like Mike's Hard I've enjoyed from the first sip and still do.

Liquor and beyond definitely needs some acclimation, and I think those should be given at least 3 tries (separate tries, that is, not all in one night). That gives time for drinking straight (almost unanimously going to be bad for people, but I loved Jager straight from the first go), different brands (cheap vodka is terrible compared to medium or higher priced brands, like Vlad vs Skyy), and different mixing.

Mixed drinks like Long Islands I'd say give a couple tries. Enjoyment of these kinds of drinks will really depend on how well you or your bartender or your host mixes them. For some mixes the alcohol is indiscernible, while others you can plainly taste the harder beverage(s) they've included. Ideally you want these mixed to mask the alcohol while still maintaining enough percentage for a good buzz in 2-3 drinks.
