Just started it yesterday. This game is.....interesting! Playing on Steam Deck. Was hoping to finish this before Alabaster Dawn or whatever comes out.

I like what I've played so far a lot. I just got to Bergen Trail IIRC. My aim with shooting is crap. It has a single-player MMO kinda thing going on which isn't bad. Feels like there's shit everywhere, but I try to be thorough.

Any non-spoilery tips? Or I guess I just need to keep going.

Haven't played it, but I know of it.

It looked kind of interesting, but I decided to skip it when I saw some description of a puzzle from the game that sounded really elaborate. Puzzle is probably the single worst genre that go halfsies on, even though it's one of if not the very most most common genre to go halfsies on.

Yeah, played it ages ago. Great game.

As for tips... Try and do things as you get to them. Part of the fun is discovering the secrets and most of the rewards are only good when you first get access to them.

I played it for a while but ultimately gave up near the end because the sprite work, while gorgeous, doesn't really have good indicators for height and the number of jump puzzles where depth perception doesn't exist was too damn high. I felt like I reached what felt like a good enough narrative conclusion anyways. Maybe I'll return to it sometime and finish it.

Loved the game's story though. Hope you have fun with it!

Skills and equipment that give you passive HP regen in combat are great. Make sure practice your perfect guards and parries.

I recommend trying all the sidequests. The first few you run into are generic MMO style "collect x number of drops" stuff, but most of the others have some sort of unique boss fight, mini dungeon, or game mechanic.

Good game. Story has some neat things going on. And yeah I liked the "you're actually in an MMO" angle of the story.

My only tip is that the ranking system in battle is basically just a combo meter. So long as you hit a new enemy before the meter goes down, you can keep it going. And the meter persists in between areas. So you can rack up kills, quickly go to the next screen/area and continue.

Having a high combat rank increases the drop rate of items, so it's especially useful if you're trying to get specific drops from enemies. But note that after you exit combat, you have about 5 seconds before you need to enter combat again. And opening up the menu also ends the combat rank early, so you can't open the map while you're farming it.

Played it years ago and loved it. Got 30+ hours in. It's a very long game. Dropped it after getting busy with life. I really want to go back to it, but according to Steam, my last played was July 2019. I absolutely do not remember what was happening. >_> And I dread the idea of starting over lol. There was even a huge update since the last time I played. One of these days I'll bite the bullet.

I liked it too but didn't finish it. Was looking for something to scratch that Alundra itch and this game kinda worked for that.

Add me to the list of people who liked it but did not finish it.

A lot of good ideas and puzzles, but just lost the drive to finish it. Felt it went on a little too long.

It's a good game that feels obnoxious at times.

It's an RPG set within an MMO, so getting materials/items/upgrades has that annoying MMO grind feel.

The puzzles range from fun to extremely overtuned, and the platforming... isn't the best.

peak of indie games for me
my rec is to prioritize perfect guard arts when you're specing into the circuit trees, those arts tend to be really busted (but in general you should try experimenting with different trees as you get quite a few skill resets and you can also save scum for no-cost experimentation)

I decided the puzzley timing moments weren't worth my try. I liked the idea of a fake online world, but I would just try to get into .hack again then play this game for what often is very cheap.
