Feel like some people here are those people from Squidsville as they want everything to be sterile, and straight to the point rather than having some character. The problem with trying to appeal to everyone is, at some point, when the only thing left is literally just a name, you can only be judged on the objective metrics such as quality and price. Arguably, Mickey D's never quite was the standard of quality for when you wanted to eat a burger (although I will defend their fries till I die), but even the price-to-food ratio is abysmal nowadays.
