I feel like the algs giving harder/easier matches based on some factors (like group queuing or time since last game) prevents my win-obsessed friend from enjoying the experience and some fun times. But his entire enjoyment is based on whether he won a game or lost a game even on non-ranked.

It's well known that Netease rigged the matchmaking to make it to where you'll be invested by giving you loss and win streaks.
