It was easy to see that was a flawed mindset as people dipped in to it more. In someone's personal life, AI generally does nothing that hasn't been done before, so it's a pretty easy sentiment to understand. Business is essentially the same but it's cheaper than employees. The only place AI is really accomplishing anything of worth to the world is medical and science, which really isn't at the forefront of people's minds on the average. ... Copied to Clipboard!

[LFAQs-redacted-quote] That's a personal problem. We've had planners since the 90s you could hit some buttons and make a daily plan on. Meal planners, too--hell, you could get meal plans for free since essentially the creation of the publicly available Internet. If you don't know what you want while shopping or where to go, dunno what to say to that one. I'll just cut it short and say the part you're not understanding again: Most of these tasks were already shaved down to take seconds for the average person. AI just does that, but again. There's a point where that effectively becomes worthless and AI is pretty close to that. Relying on AI for inspiration just sounds so incredibly sad but I guess it works for some. ... [LFAQs-redacted-quote] Alright, so... What does AI do that smartphones haven't already done for over a decade now for the average user? I mean I realize it'll be in everything ever and accept that, I even use AI from time to time, but basically every consumer end advancement is treading water and marketing. Even with increases to efficiency you're just doing the same thing, again, slightly faster. There's a wall that will be reached there. Even if a human being could plan every aspect of their life from birth to death flawlessly, there's little chance of execution on something like that. ... Copied to Clipboard!

[LFAQs-redacted-quote] The problem with arguing "AI is good for summarizing things and making it easier to understand" is that it isn't. It has a bad habit of omitting key details or context, misattributing things, or in some cases completely hallucinating statements, events, or sources in the thing it's summarizing. You literally have to either spend time fact-checking the summary that AI just generated for you to make sure it wasn't just making shit up, or accept that your summary is full of faulty and/or outright false information that you're now about to accept as fact and regurgitate to others. It doesn't work as a time saver or a learning aid. --- Check out my daily Pokemon drawings https://bsky.app/profile/runomai.bsky.social ... Copied to Clipboard!

[LFAQs-redacted-quote] So then how does this make your job faster or easier if you have to fact-check and cross-reference the summary against the video every time anyway? [LFAQs-redacted-quote] You've literally stated in this topic, multiple times, that people who use AI are smarter and better than people who don't, who are just "afraid of electricity" and "narrow-minded". You endorse dismissing anti-AI opinions entirely, but insist that all pro-AI opinions need to be respected. You either have no idea how condescending you're coming across in this topic, or you feel justified to be condescending because you think you're better than non-AI-users, while at the same time calling out the anti-AI people for being condescending and thinking they're better than people who do use AI. [LFAQs-redacted-quote] I don't really see the value in that, honestly. I use tools because they do what I want them to, not so they can interpret what they think I would want. To me, it honestly just sounds like trying to automate the living out of life. I get you can train AI to be whatever you want, essentially. Then there's the simple fact that there are people like me. I'll never see a purpose for it in every day life, even though I accept it will be foisted upon me at some point in time and I will have to deal with it, but I do see purpose for the broader aspects of AI.
