It released sooner here in asia compared to the US. Pretty good movie. My wife, who never watched the tv series can follow easily. I just told her "thats the main bad guy, all the guys with weird japanese in their eyes are like the bad guys' strongest subordinates, and the heroes must kill them all" She didnt enjoy the ultraviolence but she enjoyed the occasional backstories which are pretty self contained.
