I've thought of it, but the my experience seeing Colorful Stage! The Movie: A Miku Who Can't Sing was absolutely dismal thanks to the rest of the theater-goes. People waved distracting lights sticks around and kept screaming like idiots, and the girls sitting next to me were dancing in their seats, causing mine to shake.

It's colourful and fun, I guess, but I don't get along with that stuttery animation style.

I watched it on a whim along with my young nephews and it was alot better than I thought. It actually unglued them from their iPods for certain scenes or songs which is no small feat frankly.

Ive seen it twice. I wasnt sure it would be my thing since I dont really listen to K-Pop but it was surprisingly very enjoyable. A lot of the songs are really catchy and get stuck in my head. Im glad I tried it out. Pretty fun movie.

I liked the animation. The character designs were fantastic, just immediately stick with you.
The story was almost beat-for-beat a Renaissance Disney movie, including goofy side characters and other tropes.
Korean opulence worship is a big turn off for me. Jinu not really getting a chance at redemption also rubbed me the wrong way.

It wasn't as good as everyone seemed to recommend to me. The songs were catchy, but Golden was the only one that hit hard.

Basically, the main characters are a Kpop trio that moonlight as demon hunters. Their singing is slowly powering up a barrier that protects the human world from demons. So the demons create a boy band to try to counter the effects of their singing. The movie is filled with catchy pop songs that are mostly sung in English, with a few Korean words thrown in here and there. It's animated by the same team that made the Spider-verse movies, so the animation is great.

it does what it set out to do. I have a lot of complaints about the pacing, and the plot is once again a "90% of the problem could have been avoided if you Just Talked Like Normal People" type, but as a turn your brain off and watch the pretty colors and listen to the music experience it's great

Or, to spoilerdive has even a single movie of "the lead has a HORRIBLE SECRET (that objectively isn't all that horrible actually) they reveal by accident/are sabotaged to reveal at a climactic moment" ever had lasting repercussions of the sort the leads worry about? Like literally every single one it's a "we're kind of annoyed you didn't mention this sooner but it's fine" and it makes them look dumb.

I get that that's the point, that whole empowerment thing, that keeping that stuff hidden *is* dumb. But it feels insulting as a viewer

It's an intentional animation effect called "animating on twos." Basically each frame is repeated once, which gives their movements a choppier, more comic book looking feel. There are some sections where the characters are animated on ones though.
