And it's not the users' fault, it's the platforms. Dead", "killed", etc. are auto-flagged words on several sites now due to sponsors being prevalent on them and trying to maintain an image.

The increased usage of unalive by userbase isn't inherently due to trigger warnings, it's that just saying certain words can get it removed or their account demonitized or suspended.

Not really. Unalive started getting flagged too, so they just started using "k*ll" or "d*e", so it's turned into being more censored than television now.

See also sex workers who resorted to having to use "corn" instead of porn to bypass it - which they already hated using - and then it still ended up coming through as "c*rn". So now the word corn a "bad word".

Yes. Not because I have any aversion to the wording of killed/suicide or other triggering topics, but purely because several social media platforms are very trigger happy with censorship. I hate the practice. Death should have weight, it shouldn't sound like "teehee they got unalived!". If you aren't mature enough to talk about it, you shouldn't be on social media to begin with.
