They've actually done a decent job pulling the show out of its zombie era and giving it a new distinct identity but even then it's largely unfunny and really awkward to watch. --- Thanks for reading! ... Copied to Clipboard!

It's gotten better in the last few years. Just compared to other shows on the air today it's pretty good. Compared to peak Simpsons it's not as good but like you said hardly any show is. --- "It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life." ... The Simpsons is super interesting, because it's just basically never happened before where we've been able to see a TV show develop its own identity and be such a huge part of pop culture, lose it, and then find a new one, all while still maintaining a pretty solid and loyal fanbase. It's hard to keep being the subversive, edgy cartoon (remember when Simpsons was considered edgy?) when shows like Family Guy and South Park took that away from them nearly 30 years ago. Heck, Family Guy has largely lost what made it exciting when it first dropped, and it still hasn't found a new identity for themselves that still fits the spirit of the show like The Simpsons has. Modern Simpsons is kind of the kind of sitcom The Simpsons was originally making fun of in the 90s, but is allowed to be its own distinct identity, because that kind of sitcom also doesn't really exist anymore. ... I will say one thing with modern Simpsons is every time I hear Marge speak I wish Julie Kavner would retire before her voice is gone completely. I'm also hoping when the main cast inevitably do retire that Disney recasts instead of using AI voices. --- "It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness. I think it's more likely that when the main cast starts to go the show will finally end. Julie Kavner sounds the worst, but really not many of them can still manage the voices from 25 years ago. And then once its over Disney will start dropping the 2000 Simpsons spinoffs they've had in mind since they bought out fox. ... Copied to Clipboard!
