Yes, it was a great revival of the series, had all the right notes for atmosphere and all the little nods to the original were well done.

Played the Director's Cut version on Wii U and had a blast with it.

Yes. I didn't like it as much as the original though especially since it forced combat encounters on you and the story wasn't as tight.

I'm a sucker for shooter games with bad AI that always knows where you are, though, so you can just camp and rack up headshots with a silenced weapon

Loved it. Loved the high-kill and no-kill playthrough options. The animations during dialog were unintentionally funny, though.

Really enjoyed it for what it was and I'm still upset that Mankind Divided never got a sequel.

Like 90% of it is absolutely amazing. Really nice combination of a light open world, RPG mechanics, and fps stealth. The enemy base level design is top notch and much much better than Mankind Divided which has more open world stuff but only one interesting enemy base level.

It gets stealth right by making stealth the easy option (but still challenging), and making going loud really difficult. The Dishonored games for example get stealth completely wrong by making stealth harder, while it's far easier to go around blasting everyone with your gun and slicing them up with your sword.

It goes completely off the rails in a bad way at the end of the game because they clearly ran out of time or money or concentration. Yes the boss battles are annoying but I think they patched them so you can do a stealth approach to them...I think only in the director's cut though. It's still pretty clumsy though from what I remember.

What always gets me is the weird head waggling and hand chopping that all the NPCs do when you talk to them. Is that typical Montreal body language?

Took me a while to get into, but then I went a little rogue in the police station, and that's when it all started clicking for me.

Even got to the point where I didn't think I could progress (Namir boss fight while glitched), and I didn't mind starting over to go through it again.

Now I will play it with all sorts of challenges - no kill, mass kill, no augments, with glitch. The latest challenge (trigger-happy psycho) didn't go very well.

Wasn't that the game that No Kill was a pain in the ass for because you'd knock someone unconscious but they'd fall down a step and break their neck?
