I'll still be pissed off as it essentially means he got off scott free from being a horrible piece of shit.

Even worse, we would be stuck with Vance, who the Heritage Foundation and the ogliarchs actually want, and who would be given complete control of the whole country on a silver platter.

Thats going to happen either way, since Garland criminally dragged his feet on actually trying to hold him responsible.

Even if he dies later he'll still get away with everything. Even if we have a normal election and a democrat president next Trump's so old he'll likely never face any repercussions for his actions. He could've been but it's incredibly unlikely now barring violent revolution.

I'm pretty sure that not only would they not keep it secret, they'd immediately spin it as him having been assassinated, both to keep Donnie's cult of personality going as long as they can as well as to have a casus belli to "justify" a purge against anyone to the left of Fox.

Yeah, it's just that with history we usually have more of a perspective, but Trump is so shitty that the jury isn't out on him. He's the worst president in the history of the United States by a country mile and as time goes on and more is learned about how his administration operated, he'll just look worse and worse, which is pathetic.

It's unlikely their strategy will meaningfully change. They're already being open about what they're doing and what they plan to do with Project 2025 and Trump isn't necessary for it.

If Trump keels over, I have zero belief that Vance would be able to keep the MAGA cult together, and that would probably cause the whole country to implode within itself.

Honestly, Trump is pretty good at keeping people out of his spotlight - I doubt anyone has enough charisma to actually inherit Trump's cult.

I definitely don't see Vance having the same hold over the party. Elected Republicans for the most part are putting their careers in serious jeopardy if they defy Trump because he can easily turn his cult against them and get them primaried out of office. His cult would not be as loyal to Vance as they are to him.

When Trump passes, the most likely outcome is MAGA descends into infighting as various right-wing figures try to position themselves as the successor to Trump.

When it happens - and I have no belief it will be any time soon, mind - that's going to end up as either the most guarded gravesite in US history or the most desecrated in US history and there is no in between

This is our only consolation. The man is obsessed with legacy and people loving him. He'll die knowing he's one of the most loathed people in, at least, US history and everything he tried to do will be immediately wiped clean once democrats are back in office.
