I like that Nick Cage is so willing to just do like, whatever. He always puts 110% effort into everything, no matter how odd or B-movie he's doing.

The big reveal will be that this is a prequel to Life of Brian.

I honestly thought they were adapting the Infancy Gospel of Thomas, because boy Jesus was a little monster in that bit of apocrypha. There is one incident where Jesus just points at a little boy, who withers into a desiccated corpse and dies.

Favorite scene in Life of Brian that makes you think, is the "but I'm not the messiah". Everybody is just saying he is not matter what he says. Squint at the story of Jesus and you can see that thread there.

Still happens today.

The only time I ever saw Cage phone in a performance was Left Behind.

Nic Cage phoning in a preformance isn't the issue. The issue is he over acts. I'd say he gives it more like 150%, sometimes, this is especially true when he has influence as a producer.

Right and that was the problem with Left Behind. It wasn't fun over acting Cage. It was a bored half asleep Cage.
