would people freak out about a M rated Zelda?

i don't think people did from what i remember. people WANTED a gritty zelda. the initial reveal for wind waker had people pissed cause it was cel shaded and cartoon like.

Naw, people were hyped because they wanted something closer in tone to that famous Zelda Gamecube Space World 2000 reveal demo.

Wind Waker was the shitstorm (and of course the internet was wrong).

It's crazy because Twilight Princess wasn't that dark. Majora's Mask makes it look like child's play.

No, it was rampant excitement after the Wind Waker backlash. People kind of figured it would be after the reveal trailer.

Nobody did. They wanted a mature looking and feeling Zelda, especially after Wind Waker

people freaked out at the T rating for SSBM though. My parents wouldnt let me have it for a while due to that.

I was definitely one of those people lol. I started with OoT. But man, I loved Wind Waker when I actually played it.
