Ctes has beaten Claymates

After being gone for a week, I have returned to playing games and therefore finished this up. It's a fine game and enjoy the variety of the gameplay but several of the animals aren't that fun to play as. Unless you get an extra life, your reach is also terrible. Bosses can be terribly hard or a breeze solely depending on whether you can shoot the ball or not. I think the best of them have fun movement, but I wish that them controlling differently wouldn't mean some of them didn't have to control poorly. Should be more about the abilities. The game has plenty of charm and neat world design. The overworld puzzles are fun. The bonus levels for most part aren't fun. Some of the later worlds had levels where you used teleporters that often you back, which you had no way of knowing. That drags the game down a bit.

Ctes has beaten Fatal Fury Special

This was better than Fatal Fury 2 but it's still not really my thing. Probably has a pretty good "fun curve" because knowing some combos makes fighting games way more fun but I have no interest in learning more about a fighting game from this time. I appreciate the additions and it's fun to recognize names from character battles (why did we get so many of them in lmao). Ultimately not really me though. I beat this one with Mai, choosing Terry in the other one. Some fights are frustrating because I feel like the exact same moves just deal more damage when the opponent does them. Maybe that's an arcade mode thing. Maybe I'm bad. Who knows. Had way more trouble with the big guy than the sword guy, Geese, Krauser or Ryo. Forgot his name, he was the one right before all those.

Ctes has beaten Sonic Spinball

Another one done. I didn't expect there to be levels and a story so it was in that sense more fun than expected. It's also pinball though and the amount of random is a bit too high to truly enjoy it. It gets frustrating at times how long it takes to navigate, in particular because you might also go the reverse direction. Cool concept though.

I've also been progressing Shining Force II a bit. Mission here was just not letting the releases be a greater number than games beat. That one is way longer than most things. Once I've beat one or two more I might stick to that one for a bit. I've also played a bunch of non NSO recently.

Ctes has beaten Star Fox

This was not a new experience, I even played it on NSO before this project, but it's fun. Given it has three routes to choose from with only the first and last level being the same, it also has a lot of replay value. I'm pretty certain Peppy is most likely to die, followed by Slippy. Falco was never even threatened. Animations can be a little hard to judge and dodge by today's standards but it's no issue and it holds up well. Quite impressive for the time.

I feel like enjoyment never goes quite high enough to put it above this, but that's also really good.

Luigi's Mansion is now available and will be a good GC start when that day comes.

I'll aim to play Operation Logic Bomb or perhaps Battletoads / Double Dragon shortly which will mean I've played as many as games as was released during this topic including this last one. I'll also likely have a bunch of time off soon to dig into this more and perhaps work on some of the longer games.

Ctes has beaten Operation Logic Bomb

This was a very good game. The best part of this project is the games that I've gone compeltely blind into knowking nothing about them and they turn out to be very fun. I thought gameplay was fun, I thought it was neat to get new upgrades and weapons and utilize those. Bosses were a little too similar, but enjoyable experince. For what variety the different things offered, I would say that length was very good as well.

Once 200 comes I need to sort the tiers again I think. Caught up, so back to focusing on Shining Force II probably.

I might also play Yoshi's Story this month, since it's part of the game of the month thing. MZero also knocked it out quite early.
