I was just doing dragon ball, but yeah that too.

It was Toriyama's story. Just wrap up the loose ends in Super and call it a day.

Do you mean a new version of Goku's tale or a new protagonist set in the Dragon Ball universe?

I want a sequel to DBZ with Uub as the protag and Goten, Trunks, Marron, Pan, Bra and the two androids as his supporting cast. Have Goku in the mentor role, no longer taking an active part in defending earth but guiding the next generation while still continuing his own training.

Alternatively, how about they just stop making Dragon Ball content now that its creator is dead, and let something new take its place.

same way so many other stories have been retold

its no different than any other iconic character who gets new takes on their journey

Or just read or watch literally any other battle shonen with an idiot savant protagonist.

i think the reboot could be about a card game. call it something like, duel fighters. the main character can be a teenage kid who lives with his grandpa, who runs a local game shop. the young boy is gifted a mysterious broken artifact that requires to be put back together (like a puzzle). upon completing it, a spirit within the artifact is able to requisition the boy's body in order to play games with those of ill-repute. he also has the power to "punish" the losers and cheaters. we can call it

You might just want to just watch something new. Dragonball hasnt done anything remotely original in 3 decades. Now that its a cash cow and doesnt have a creative to direct it itll continue to do the most safe, fanservicey thing possible.

Luckily, it was big enough to have spawned countless imitators that have continually modified and improved upon its formula (by, for example, not having how powerful a character is be stated numerically, or not making 90% of special attacks different colored energy beams/balls). Try one of those.

No, what they need to do and continue the Super story. We need Goku v Moro, Goku v Black Freiza, Vegeta Ego v Goku UI.

Dragon Ball is too big, there's no way the powers that be will ever allow it to do anything interesting.

Considering Toriyama has a hand picked successor? I think it's pretty inevitable that Super is going to continue at some point.

there is a legal battle going on over the ownership of dragon ball

and it seems toyotaro may be moving on to his own series (no idea if this is true but i saw it mentioned elsewhere)

I'm aware, while he is doing another series he keeps on putting out Dragon Ball art as well. I expect he is not giving up on the position but is going to do another series while the legal issues get sorted, especially since it could be a few years before the courts get it all untangled.

I imagine unless his new series blows up and gets REALLY big (which is unlikely) I imagine he'll gladly return to Dragon Ball when the time comes.

I thought his other thing was a mini series.

This would have been better than whatever super tried to do. Even the animation looks bad now, nothing really is salvageable imo

"now" the animation looked bad the moment it aired, its production is notoriously terrible and them making the ToP even remotely watchable is a miracle (and even then there were still quite a few bad eps there)

Either way, been saying it for a while, just let Toyo conclude Super and let it end there, going back to the series just existing through videogames and the occasional rerelease

Give me spinoffs with the Z-fighters trying to save the day with no Saiyans around.

I'd be significantly more interested in Tien, Krillin, Piccolo, Yamcha, and Chiaotzu trying to band together and save the day over pretending that they're relevant characters until Goku saunters in and says "I'm Super Saiyan 11 now" and wins.
