Yesss. I already expected it to run fine on Deck, but now I get to confirm before pre-ordering for the BlackAgumon and BlackGabumon.

Unless Nintendo surprises and the Switch 2 version is announced this week for same day release.

Oh heck yeah, this game looks fantastic. Looking forward to trying it for myself.

I barely touched Cyber Sleuth 2 just because it was so clearly an asset flip from Cyber Sleuth, I couldn't get into how it was just the same game in the same areas with some different characters and a side story narrative.

So for me this is the first actual new entry in this sub franchise and has been a LONG time coming.

I'm happy to see both how much better this looks and that it seems to be garnering a lot more attention so far during pre-release.

I didn't think I'd live to see the day where Pokemon isn't the most hyped game of its release month for me.

It bothers me that the main Digimon character is basically 99% human so I'm worried about really getting invested into the story, but the game itself looks fun so we'll see.

Like 70% of all Digimon seem to end up being a human by the time they hit Mega anyway, so that's just how it goes.

Sounds like it's a start of the game save transfer demo, 4ish hours. Glad this is becoming the norm. I find myself just not playing demos that don't carry over anymore.

At the very least for an RPG. I'm a little more lenient of it outside the genre

Aegiomon seems to be based on a satyr, but looking at the updates, at least he kinda ends up taking on more non-human traits as he digivolves. One of the Ultimate forms is like only one-third human, one third-goat, and one-third mech. Another one is one-third plant. Though I imagine you still only see him in Champion(?) mode for most of the story.

I have been avoiding most promotional material for the game, but I heard that some recent info came out about how the digivolution tree and mechanics in this one are completely next level from things in the past. Hopefully that not obscurely next level.

This whole time I assumed Aegiomon was a new creation for this game's story, but now I see he's been around since 2012.

Looked at the starters for the first time an yeah it's Gomamom. Nothing against Patamon and Demidevimon but they're too obvious lol.

Steam Demo is out for you PC folks.

If it's anything like the Cyber Sleuth games, the starter choice mean practically nothing.

I know it's all MEANT to be confusing right now in preparation for timey wimey stuff, but yeah it's not exactly clean so far. Love playing it, though, and haven't touched the mode that unlocks after where they met you play around with higher level stuff yet.

Right now my biggest concern is actually the music. Whoever approved that NOISE (can't call it a song) that plays throughout that entire building section needs to have their head checked.

There was a perfect point they could have cut at and then ran it another 10 minutes for some reason that just made things even more confusing LOL

I stopped playing after getting all the available Digimon in the first area to 200% and converting them. I take it then that the digivolution menu opens up before the end of the demo.

I'm gonna be sad when all my fav rookies evolve into champions and ultimates and become much less cute... :(

If there's no miracle announcement of a same day Switch 2 release in the Direct tomorrow, I suppose I can open it back up and do some of that myself...

Yeah, up to Rookie in the actual saved demo, a bunch of Champions in the post demo mode that lets you play around later in the game.

Did anybody try to beat the super enemy in the first real area? I did early on and obviously got smashed, I don't think you can backtrack either.

I think it's doable on the easy mode since you can get invincibility. Otherwise I think it's impossible.

I laughed so hard when I saw how much damage that thing did.

I entered a battle with it, hit it for like 20 damage, and promptly ran the fuck away LOL

Tip for the post demo mode, apparently if you try to make Paildramon the demo just breaks entirely lol. Sounds like it might even fuck with the save? Not gonna test it.

I may just replay the demo to do a bunch of grinding too, it's not THAT long as it is and if you skip cutscenes it should be easy to background play with some YouTube.

You can also speed up to 5x and turn on auto battling. Honestly, it's a breeze. I got that team set up and finished the demo in 2hours30 minutes, and that was with being very suboptimal.

I'm a little sad that every rookie has the same VA, but I get it, I'm assuming the game is like 99% Megas so that's probably where all the voice clips are lol

Going to do Patamon this time just so I can dedigivolve and get Armadillomon or Terriermon early. I assume it won't matter but....eh.

Demidevimon seems like the loser here since you can actually backtrack his chain with THREE Digimon obtainable in the starter zone, which you can't do with either Patamon or Gomamon.

Ahhhh, yeah I really wanted to start Patamon so that I could get an Armadillomon... but I love Gomamon pretty much just as much.

I'm sure I'll find an Armadillomon soon when the full game releases, at least within early enough to actually use him and not be at like Champion or Ultimate level point of the game.

You CAN get DemiDevimon in the demo without picking him as your starter, but the stats required means you have to get the In Training to like level 15+

But yeah, still biggest loser.

I wasnt feeling the demo. The overall story is intriguing, but the dialogue was kinda stale and the gameplay felt a bit too stiff. Also kind of a bummer that all of the Digimon are just the exact same ones that have been in every game for the last 20 years. I know the new stuff is probably later on but eh.

The starting area already had one Digimon I was unfamiliar with (Dracomon) and Ermine's screenshot showed me a handful of other ones I don't know. I want that yellow bee.

I was curious whether maybe I was giving the game a hard time, but I checked every Digimon in that screenshot and one (Hackmon) is from 2012 and the rest are from 2007 or earlier.

Like, I'm not expecting all new Digimon or anything. Even Pokemon still has Kanto Mons in the opening areas of the newest games. But they could have at least made the starters something new. Even the preorder DLC is recycled from Cybersleuth :/

I don't think they put as much energy into making new Rookie and below Digimon as they do in Champion and above. I think even Champion may get less love. Digimon seems to mostly care about the endgame when it comes to making new Mons.
