Back then hearing stories about stimulant make people superhumans. For example, the aztecs use bitter cocoa drinks to give soldiers energy during wars. They think it was drink from the gods and its bacially magic. Spanish soldiers who found out about their cocoa drinks basically realized how valuable it is and start trading them worldwide. They're also used by soldiers to boosts energy.

Nowadays i need coffee just not to wake up with headache every day.

I did a 21 day break from caffeine to give my self a reset a couple of months ago

The first cup of coffee back was exhilarating to say the least. You forget how good the caffeine buzz is supposed feel when you do it everyday

For a while I was doing caffeine every other day and that 48 hours was enough time to not build up a tolerance. Then of course I fell into the trap of thinking I needed it back to back days and was eventually back to drinking it everyday, which at that point your body is so dependent on it youre really just ingesting it to get back to baseline and maybe get a short 20 minute buzz. Or worse you keep upping the dosage chasing that buzz and putting yourself deeper into dependence, exactly like any other drug really

I think at the end of this month Im going to do another reset
