Anyone on CE a Disney Adult, or know someone close to them that are? How expensive is it to be one?

Its cheap to just watch their movies and shows, but it probably costs a lot of money to go to Disneyland/World all the time

I have a friend who's one. She goes like every other week with a bunch of friends. I think her husband makes pretty good money which is probably how she's able to go all the time.

Does she have to fly there or do they live in Florida or California?

She moved to California about a year ago, so she probably goes even more now.

My younger sister probably would be one if she could.

But money is an issue and she has that condition where you're basically allergic to sunlight.

I think Disney is pretty generous with influencers. Disney adulting can pay for itself if you can get a semi-successful youtube channel going.

I was being tongue in cheek, but in all seriousness, that sucks. Is she able to go out when it's cloudy or is daytime completely off limits?

Edit: Oh, I just realized you're not the initial poster I quoted. Well, I'll leave the question up

They have a magic key program where you can get an annual pass for the cost of like 3-4 trips (depending on the tier you get) so I imagine shes gotta be using that (I think pricing is like 599, 899, 1300, 1800)

They used to have a SoCal special that was a crazy steal for SoCal residents but thats gone now. If shes doing the 599/899 pass which downside is you cant go on weekends then thats not bad lol shed be getting her moneys worth if shes going weekly/monthly regardless of the pass though.

I used to make an annual trip to Disneyland from Canada. Stopped during Covid, and despite a planned trip coming up (planned before you guys went batshit crazy), it could be the last time for a while... at least until we're on better terms.

Edit: the expensive thing... yeah it can be, but you find ways to save up - less vacationing throughout the year, eating in, finding park deals and hotel deals.

Dunno if it fits the description but my sister and her husband go to Disney World maybe 2-3 times a year. They're both doctors so I don't think it's much of a financial stress.

I have no issue with them, except for when it's one of the reasons they're in massive financial issues that can affect their loved ones. One of my friend had that problem, she couldn't stop and it caused a massive rift between her husband.

I vividly remember that. Back when my family had them (late 90s), they were like $99 a person. Quite a few blackout dates, but at that price, someone who lived nearby could go just for fireworks and a couple rides on a random weeknight. After two years of those annual passes, I literally got bored of Disneyland. Didn't go back from the time I was 14 until my late 20s.

same, feel like that deal ended up burning me out but it was nice when I lived in OC cause Id just jet over for a quick ride/show or to just people watch after work lol. After a couple years though I did the same and basically stopped for like 10+ years lol.

hell of a deal though.

This. Am I a "Disney Adult" if I watch the movies and buy Disney Villainous, or do I have to buy every possible piece of merch and have a season pass to Disneyland?

Disney Adults vary by consumption size, but the ones the Internet refers to are the ones that go beyond just watching the shows and movies.

Which reminds me. Apparently there's this person who wrote a book on Disney Adulting. Here's a 10 minute video from the author talking about her book.

I went to Disney about 9 times a year from 2014 to 2019, so I am probably a Disney adult. I'm in Miami, so it was easy enough to drive 3 hours to Orlando on a Friday and drive home on a Sunday. My brother also lived 20 minutes from Disney World, so I never had to pay for hotels. Annual passes in my exact circumstances were just a good way to keep my family together regularly as we moved through adulthood.
