Season three has been a massive disappointment given how great season one and two were. It's like the writers are scared. A star Trek that's too afraid to push limits isn't worth it --- "So this is how liberty dies, with Thunderous applause." Padme Amidala ... Copied to Clipboard!

IDK I think the overall low energy of the ending was like a bit of a rest from the stuff they did last time with the gorn. --- It says right here in Matthew 16:4 "Jesus doth not need a giant Mecha." https://i.imgur.com/dQgC4kv.jpg ... Copied to Clipboard!

this show will end up the opposite of a lot of the classic shows. The first two seasons will be the best instead of the worst --- "We would have no NBA possibly if they got rid of all the flopping." ~ Dwyane Wade ... Copied to Clipboard!

I thought that ending sucked felt straight out of Doctor who or something (a show do like fwiw). way too much exposition but also handwaving stuff. haven't been too hard on this season but I didnt like this one at all. --- BLACK LIVES MATTER Games: http://backloggery.com/wrldindstries302 \\ Music: http://www.last.fm/user/DrMorberg/ ... I would argue that DS9 had a lot of good and evil themes, but I havent seen any of the new Trek at all except Piccard which I turned off after 2 episodes. I need to get back into Star Trek, so far Ive only watched TOS, TNG and DS9. Voyager really killed my interest. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I liked the finale. It actually offered closure. I liked that reframed Spock and Kirk getting along so well. I liked that it justified Pike's acceptance of his fate (although, maybe it would have been better if he wasn't so accepting already). I liked the explanation for why Captain Batel is not in TOS. My least favorite in S3 was Four-and-a-Half Vulcans. That one could have been done better, and there was already too much body swapping. ... Copied to Clipboard!

The finale was underwhelming. Pike getting to see the life he and Marie should have been able to have together but can't was good and the whole sequence was well done. But the explanation for why Marie has her powers didn't make a lot of sense. Also M'Benga was super important to the episode until like 2/3 of the way through then he didn't matter, and the thing with Kirk and Spock felt like padding. For the season overall, there's some stuff I liked but I don't think it was as good as the prior two seasons. Through the Lens of Time and Terrarium were excellent, and I also really liked The Sehlat Who Ate Its Tail (I wasn't sold on Paul Wesley as Kirk at first but I've grown to like him). The biggest miss was Wedding Bell Blues. I'm fine with the idea of bringing Trelane back but the episode didn't work. What Is Starfleet? brought up some really good questions about the nature of Starfleet and the Federation but failed to engage with them in the way it should have. --- "It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life." ... Copied to Clipboard!
