(WFTV) A man is accused of putting on scuba gear after robbing a restaurant in Disney Springs and swimming away. It happened at the Paddlefish restaurant at Disney Springs in Florida. Officials havent identified the man, but they said he knew where the security camera was, knew where to hide his wetsuit and knew when the restaurant manager would be counting their cash for the night. Investigators said the man boarded the restaurant, which is on a replica steamboat, just after midnight Monday and forced two employees into the corner of the room. They said he said he told them to close their eyes. They didnt see a weapon, but they did as he said. Sources familiar with the investigation said he then tied the employees up. They said he was in and out in two minutes, taking somewhere between $10,000 and $20,000 before the employees could free themselves and call 911. Deputies believe he put his scuba gear on after the robbery, jumped into the man-made pond, and swam off. He left behind a bizarre photo of him in a wetsuit captured on the restaurants security camera. Staff cleaned up the restaurant and opened it as normal to guests just 12 hours later as detectives scoured the area. No one was injured in the robbery.
