I really can't stand apps like Temu, Fantuan, or the myriad crypto apps that promise unending deals or discounts before you are allowed to interact with the app.

It's like they want to sensory overload you into a purchase.

It's just another Aliexpress but spams ads like a fiend in every mobile app.

If you want poorly built falsely advertised garbage you can get that straight off of Amazon now.

My phone came with the Temu app on it, but I just uninstall it and never looked.

I've no desire to buy knock offs and cheap crap.

I've never used AliExpress, Shein, Temu and all that crap, nor will I use them in the future. It's a matter of principle to me.

There's a certain kind of person (like my brother) who is forever buying trash because its on sale and cheap and therefore...worth buying?

My brother loves a bargain. He'll buy stuff he doesn't want or need simply because it solves a problem he's never had and it was less than $10. He is Temu's ideal customer.

Based on everything my mother bought through them, it trash.

I still use eBay. It's the same crap at virtually the same price only a little less sketchy.

Just had a look out of curiosity, and it's not just knock offs and crap.

There's some deeply weird and unsafe shit too.

They actually came out nice. Didn't get ripped to shreds in the wash either like I expected them to. Good fit and material as well.

I've heard that too, at least in our case they were perfect. Only did it once though.

One of the main problems is that many of their toys and other products contain plasticizers, which can be harmful to health and are therefore banned in the EU.

Another problem is that all the crap people are ordering from them is not only causing even more stores to close, but also leading to a massive flood of packages. From an ecological perspective, it's a disaster.

A friend of mine bought a putter on there that was a knockoff of a brand 4x as expensive and it's actually a pretty nice putter. No idea if it's as good as the original one but he putts well with it so it does its job.

People shit on Alibaba/Aliexpress but its a great place to find cheap jewelry or motherboard components.

I've had good luck with them. Most of my Halloween costume is from there.

I've bought a lot of stuff off of Temu, mostly clothes for work. But I have used it to Christmas shop for the past 2 years and all the stuff I got seemed to work just fine. Even now, the items are still working. It got to the point where I uninstalled it because I kept buying things that I didn't need. lol

It's also good for finding random car parts that you either can't find in the US or they're expensive. I ordered a couple clips that hold up my trunk divider for $2 shipped and they were over $20 here. Looks and works the same as the old ones.

Temu isn't going to sell you broken stuff or whatever. They just sell knock off bootleg brands, the items work and does it's functions well for the most part.

I make fun of Temu because I always get stuck hauling tons of their packages in the house every time my family orders them.

We are not the same.

In the last year, I brought stuff like floss, adhesive tape, Oakley like sunglasses, nato watch band, an AirPods case, and heat shrink tubing from Temu.

As long as its not electronics, cheap Temu products are usually fine.
