The nicest way I can say this is that at some point with what you're telling us about your job, about multiple jobs, is that the issue cannot just be with everyone else. There's something here you need to fix.

No I think you're right. I've made a few mistakes and I'm getting the impression my new managers dont like me very much. That being said, fast food is not known for stable hours and scheduling.

There's stuff here that's a problem. I'm not unsympathetic, but you need to fix it for your own sake.

Oof, and I thought my 12 hours this past week was bad.

Im out of a job in about 2 hours. My store was sold and they didnt offer me a transfer.

If that's the case it sounds like TC's employer is done with them and just giving them half a shift a week so that they eventually quit and can't potentially file for partial unemployment benefits.

I'm assuming this is so they don't have to fire you and let you get unemployment. Since most people can't afford to just work 4 hours a week they are trying to force you to quit. They are basically firing you without firing you and trying to force you out, which means they REALLY don't like you because they are taking the extra step to make sure you can't get unemployment.

I had a boss who was desperately trying to make me quit once. We hated each other and I wouldn't kiss the ring because he was an asshole.

I just kept being more annoying until he fired me so I could collect unemployment. Don't quit TC, give them a reason.

I'm not going to pretend to know all the rules, especially state by state. I have no idea, except about firing vs quitting for uneployment.

As far as the other stuff I have no idea, or like how long you need to work or whatever. I know TC has talked a lot about his work history or lack there of and unless I'm mistaken in the last 3 years he has only had a job at Domino's for 1 week and they let him go and outside like a 1 day door dash bike delivery to get money from a friend there was this Burger King job recently and in a very quick manor they were cutting down his limited hours fairly fast.

I don't know how much work history plays a part in any of this state by state either.

I just tried filing for unemployment for literally an hour, but every time I get to the verification process, it redirects me to a blank screen and I have to do everything all over again. Bullshit. I really need a computer.

Dumb advice incoming but if you're stuck on mobile try doing it in landscape mode. It tricks some sites into loading their desktop layout. Also I wouldn't try it unless you know for certain that you're getting taken off the schedule. For all intents and purposes you're still employed.

You can still qualify for unemployment while employed if your hours were drastically reduced like mine.

While a bit aggressive, I believe they are saying that the issues may be internal as well as external.

That sucks. you should ask your manager/boss if there's anything you can do to improve your performance at work and get more hours.

Why would an employer do something shitty like that? Why would they be so opposed to any ex employee getting unemployment benefits? Do they have to pay for them?

In JoCrazy's defense, I remember him making a topic about the shady stuff his job was doing to him, because I commented about a business here pulling similar shit on their employees.

there's many reason. i think they do have to payout unemployment (this is possibly untrue). employees pay into it though.

I've had at least one job per year since 2020. My understanding of it is that you earn equal to the amount of money you would make if you had the minimum required amount of hours to be considered part time. Which I dont.

I did make a thread saying I was gonna get laid off. It ended up not happening but the evidence is in front of my face now.

Employers collectively fund unemployment benefits through payroll taxes. But if they have too many claims, they can be charged extra taxes. In some (most?) states, employees also contribute (same as how workers comp works).

They put me back at 10 a week, so I guess that's better than nothing. I filed for unemployment as well.

My life is so chaotic. I've just been reminiscing on my old life and how it used to be and I just wanna break down. There's so much to do every day, so much to worry about, so little pay off for everything.

I hit up my old coworker from my first job and asked her if she wanted to go eat somewhere in a couple weeks. I miss her a lot, she was always very supportive of me and my life and we always worked great together. She is supportive of me being trans as well.

Idk I am feeling very lonely and nostalgic and need to reconnect with an old friend. Someone I feel completely safe around. And I have known her for 12 years.
