it's uncomfortable and taxing. I work out 6 days a week, and 2x on M/W/F

I never notice any difference in terms of how I feel or in my energy levels. And I don't get endorphins or any personal satisfaction from it either.

I work out exclusively to stay healthy and eat a little bit more of what I want

I used to. My working out these days is work and the occasional hike up into the hills.

I don't do extensive stuff anymore.

I used to never work out due to depression and being busy with work and my family. I made it a priority after my back injury and some other health shit started coming up all once. I lost nearly 200 pounds and was really motivated and doing well.

When my dad got sick last year I got really depressed again and have had a hard time getting back into that rhythm. I put 30 pounds back on and just started losing some of it.

It isnt always easy.

I feel guilty when I miss multiple workouts. That's always a great motivator.

But I mean, the simple answer is that people don't enjoy it or just have other shit going on. I mean, I don't enjoy it either, but I just try to think of it as a chore I have to do. Nothing to do with enjoyment

I feel like I get enough exercise doing other things, and I'm happy about how I look.

I tried going to the gym a couple of times, but nothing about it really appealed to me. Good for you if it's your thing though.

Its pretty casual riding, but I guess.

Not in the context that most people use "working out" though. Not a gym person

I guess it's a bit down to personal definitions. For myself, if I were to start working out, it would probably be something like going for walks, as it would have to be something I don't have to spend money on.

Yeah that's what I did before I bought my bike. Lots of walking. Still walk a lot with my grandma but that's not much exertion. She's 85 and slow as balls.

I just have no desire to be heavily muscled. It's not my style.

I regularly do interval runs on my home treadmill. Typically 30-40 minute workouts several times a week. I feel great at the end, helps me maintain my weight, increases my stamina/vitality, and helps keep my resting heart rate low (47 bpm).

When I'm busy at work it's a workout in and of itself. Lifting, pushing, pulling hundreds of pounds, and walking up to 10 miles in a single shift.

But it isn't consistent, so I do a home workout once or twice a week, and I make it mildly fun by doing around 15 songs on Dance Dance Revolution in Expert mode in between a few reps of free weight stuff.

I'm no Adonis, but I don't look like the perma-stoned gamer that I am on the inside :)

It seems to be one of those things that people can get so deeply into that they just can't understand why others would not want the same wonderful experience.

Have you accepted the workout into your life as your lord and saviour?

You can get a good workout in with kettlebells at home in 5 minutes, 3 times a week.

I DO understand that most people wouldn't know that, though.

No, because those people will usually talk about blowing out their back, knees, or neck from performing simple movements like getting up from a chair and it's weird cause those issues wouldn't be so debilitating or common of you just simply worked out from time to time. People will also complain about being ugly or depressed and working out is one of the few activities available to you that helps out with those issues so it's weird how those same people get so combative about the subject too.

Working out doesnt require much money at all, but being able to throw lots at it does make it significantly easier and means that you need a whole lot less discipline.
