Looked beautiful at times, and there were maybe 4 or 5 really solid scenes, but for the most it was just kinda eh. I think early previews were really exaggerating the Rock's performance. Felt like a straight up table read for 80% of the movie.

Apparently the character isn't that complex and it's just another buff nice guy role for the Rock.

The 15-minute standing ovation at Venice sounded suspicious. But I haven't seen the movie, and I'm biased because I think The Rock is a doucher.

Thats pretty much what it is. Extremely nice dude with a drug problem. The fight scenes were pretty well done at least.

I like most of the Safdie Bros stuff, this one just didn't have it. Maybe they should stop splitting up and directing their own things idk.

It released the same day as the Taylor Swift concert video so that was gonna be an uphill battle regardless. The concessions area was packed with women/girls in T-Swift apparel lol

I've heard Dwayne Johnson was great in the role but the movie was not well adapted from the documentary. Like... it doesn't do a good job of being a good film narratively, it's just a bunch of things that happen.

Which is fine for an actual documentary but not for a narrative film.

I probably won't watch it, even though I love me some fucking Pride stuff.

That being said, I'm pretty sure this dude (a vid I'm gonna share) did way better justice to Kerr then that movie.

FYI, it's an almost 3 hour documentary about the rise and fall of pride. However, homie has the dry Irish whit and it's rather entertaining. You can always skip the parts that don't invole the smashing machine if you want to just learn about his shit that's not a fake hollywood tale.

I've only seen Good Times and Uncut Gems but I think that was enough for me to say I don't care for the Saftie Brothers. And I don't care about sports movies or biopics. So this is an easy pass for me.
