I find myself fascinated by the Satelleview.

SNES peripheral, only in Japan, players used it to download small games and apps over a broadcast.
You could save a limited amount locally, and some things survived, but parts of the media are either lost or scattered.
There was also a hub area with characters and time-limited events and the like, those are hard to reproduce as well.

Yeah, as we've seen from leaks, Nintendo has massive archives of their old stuff. That's one of the more frustrating things about them, is how much they are just sitting on.

My dad has it recorded somehow. He played it on a trip awhile back and I asked who was that. So I look it up. Robert Ellis Orral. It's a extremely rare .45. And part of a compilation too thats equally rare. It's a silly song but it's catchy. He went on to write and produce country music but thats his mark.

Definitely the Satelleview and Sega Channel exclusive games/content. Some of them sound really interesting, but nearly all of them are lost, likely forever.

Also, I would kill for a true copy of Pre-CU Star Wars Galaxies. There are some emulator projects out there that do what they can, but no one has ever made a 1:1 copy of the original, and likely never will.

It's not really lost, just mostly forgotten, but as a small kid I friggin loved the Mind's Eye videos.
I still have the VHS for those. As a Canadian, I saw a lot of them because YTV used them as bumpers to fill time between shows, under the brand "Short Circutz".

My old roommate taped that, though I haven't had any contact with him since 2003 (we had a heated argument and I moved out), and I think he passed away some years ago.

Also, the old cartoon Road Rovers had a promo for a "special" episode with "new footage" for one of the episodes, but when the episode ("A Day In The Life") aired, there was no new footage, and the "Russian Name Game" song had been edited out. Nobody knows for sure, but fans speculated it may have had something to do with Princess Diana and Prince Charles (Di and Charles had previously appeared in the episode "A Hair of the Dog That Bit You"), but Di was killed in the car crash a day after the promo aired.

1. Beyonce - Texas Hold'em Official music video

2. Yes Dear! - sitcom. Not exactly lost but it currently not available on any streaming platforms. Low quality tv recordings are posted on YT.

Other bits of lost of media I can think of that I would love to see archived:

There were two late night series that aired on TechTV around 2003. Wired for Sex and EyeDrops, both are mostly lost.

I think only one episode of EyeDrops was ever archived and Wired for Sex is only available as clips (ironically the unaired "pilot" is pretty easy to find).

A few other TechTV series like Invent This! and Fresh Gear are also hard to find.

No idea if its lost media but theres a cassette tape I had when I was very little (late 80s to early 90s) that I cannot find online. It had a bunch of simple songs for kids and I remember listening to it every day and absolutely loving one specific song. I dont remember many of the lyrics, but I do remember the overall tune and that the chorus went:

Family, oh, family
Growing together, like the leaves on a tree
Family, oh, family
We care about each other, in our family

I find myself humming it to this day. Part of me knows it wont hold up to my nostalgia if I find it online, but Id still love to hear it again and share it with my little ones.

The Feast of Steven is likely the only episode that has no chance of ever being found, but I suppose weirder things have happened. For example, 2 Dr Who episodes were found in a Mormon Church somehow. People started a rumor that it used to be a BBC storage facility but the building was actually built in the late 1970s or early 1980s and is not affiliated with them at all.

The 3 hour version of Gorillaz Plastic Beach

What?! How have I never heard of this. I was all over the leaks and hype in the leadup to it's release. 2010 was wild.

I've got three others for the thread: first is a weird Simpsons edit that was on YouTube. It was dark as hell and involved murder. Also involved the phrase "home is where the Bart is" or "Homer is where the Bart is." Haven't been able to find it in a long, long time.

Second is a Weezer mega pack torrent called Project Weezer from around 2005. It has all the versions of all the songs Rivers shared online for short periods of time during the Maladriot days -- along with every other extant recording of every other Weezer song up to the release of Make Believe. Also had as close to all the available bootlegs up to that point (there were way more compiled and circulated from that period later).

Project Weezer was my life for a couple years. Found so many versions of beloved songs to dig into. Also found tonnes of unreleased ones to love. Plenty came out on the Rivers Alone volumes later but he rerecorded and remasterd some in ways I don't like. I want those old Project Weezer packs. The sad and rough acoustic "I can't stop partying" comes to mind.

I can't even find mention of Project Weezer online. But I didn't dream it. I remember running bittornado for days to get it all.

Finally, third is a Kingdom Hearts homebrew game for Windows. Side scrolling and looked a lot like the GBA games which, as far as I cann remember, came out after this person made their little beta homebrew. It was announced on the KH board here and a beta or demo was released. Then the creator got modded a few times and the project disappeared. Does any old head remember that?

I believe the playable character has a key blade though. Does that mean they are or aren't Organization? Are Organization people wearing trench coats? I seem to remember tench coats.

There was a Harry Potter website that was like a text based MMO. Maybe more like a message board. You got sorted and could explore Hogwarts. I think MAYBE you could see other people moving around? Or, at least you could see how many other people were in the part of the castle you were in. Maybe it was just a simple website views counter, now that I think about it.

But when it launched it definitely tricked me into thinking it was an MMO (though I didn't have the word for MMO yet, I don't think).

Was it official or was it fanmade?

Edit: was official and was by WB for the first movie. Seems it's gone, though. https://www.reddit.com/r/tipofmytongue/comments/9gy5to/tomt_website_early_2000s_very_old_harry_potter/

There are two that immediately came to mind for me:

Chris Farley's Shrek. Apparently he had most if not all of the dialogue recorded, but after his death they switched to Mike Meyers. I'd love to see Shrek voiced by Chris Farley.

A bit more morbid: Christine Chubbuck's live suicide. The audio has been released but the video has never resurfaced though is believe to still exist and is being held through a law firm, at the family's discretion. A couple of seemingly genuine fakes started coming out after the 2016 movie, but they weren't legit.
