Pikmin 4 was basically a complete reboot.

Not going to lie, this was pretty clever marketing. Got people who arn't even into Pikman talking.

Imagine the kitchen level. Its all cute until knives start moving around on their own.

They uploaded a new version of the video of the video, where you can see the Pikmin this time. Its on the app but not on YouTube yet.

Still no clue as to why they made this, whether its a Pikmin 5 teaser, or just experimenting with their new animation studio.

Whether Nintendo intended it or not, it probably serves as a tech demo for the next Mario movie.

Pikmin 4 was basically a complete reboot.

They never said pikmin didn't exist the same time as humans did, its not impossible for them to have both.

We'll see for sure if/when the next game comes out I guess.

Pikmin 4 seemed to reboot the story? Its pretty much following after Pikmin 1 again it seems, with minimal changes.

However of note is that the locations in Pikmin 4 seem very much pristine, even a house level with food on the counters, running appliances, etc.

I'm guessing the pacifier is going to be some sort of new Nintendo device used to monitor babies' health or something like that

well my class also thought it might have something to do with chibi robo. But yeah, thats the pikmin theme

You act like Nintendo doesn't already have franchises that are cute and family friendly but also don't have that at the same time.

There's a sourceless claim that Shigeru said that the planet was with humanity extinct that gets thrown around a lot but doesn't really mean much without a source. The evidence of humans on the planet in 1/2 is in too good of a shape for them to be extinct unless they all vaporized a week prior to the first game and then 3 changes it a lot by changing how the planet looks and everything being more decayed . Nintendo very much has no issue changing the lore when they see fit.

what's not to understand about the nature of my grievance? what is there to argue about? the mystique of the post-apocalyptic angle was cool. now it is gone, and that is lame to me. you don't have to agree, but why pretend like you don't get what i mean? pikmin can be generally family friendly without going full nick jr. or so i thought.

Except its not gone. Its is as far as we know still a thing in the games themselves. If the next game comes along and we see humans then yes, you have reason to be upset.

Huh, weird they deleted the pikmin video.

Plot twist: this is a prequel game before people went extinct and Pikmin are the equivalent of roaches in that they can basically survive a nuclear holocaust through sheer numbers. They may be wimpy in nearly every other regard, but you take a billion pikmin and wipe out 99% of them, that's still ten million pikmin that can reproduce by bringing shit back to their onions.

Pikmin 4 had a level taking place inside a house that had obviously been lived in very recently. The post-apocalyptic thing is gone.

Honestly, it was kinda iffy even in the second game, since those treasures should have decayed a long time ago if humans werent around.

metroid and zelda and fire emblem and kirby all still exist

nintendo still owns 3 bayonetta games and will likely fund a 4th (with a new developer seeing as platinum has fallen apart)

there could be 1 possible saving grace

a human could end up stepping on and crushing oachi then whip out a proton pack suck up his ghost and then throw the ghost trap into the sun insuring he is deader than dead and can never ever ever come back

there could be timelines like Zelda. Some games will be before humans were gone, and some after.

Because of the Pikmin Bloom lore that Pikmin are invisible to humans unless they use a device (smartphone).
