That's by design, of course. The "joys" of job hunting are the way they are precisely because it devalues and demotivates labor. Of course the rulers never have to look for jobs the way plebes do. Everything's online, when you are so broke that your internet gets shut off, and your phone sucks, it's even harder. I spend a couple hours a week sitting in the tacobell parking lot just for free wifi. I'm about to go sell plasma, at least that has free wifi & I get paid. Scardude posted... Even with money....it is depressing Everyone I know who is retired is absolutely thrilled with their life. Even the ones who didnt plan well and have a tight budget but still enough to cover bills, eat well, and live comfortably in their home. Maybe you can make the argument that retired is different than someone who is younger and unemployed but being out of work if you have money would be the greatest thing ever. So unemployment with money is amazing no matter how you end up in that situation. I totally understand someone who is young and unemployed and needing to work being super stressed about it but if you have money? Way different scenario in my opinion. I actually enjoy my job and money really isnt a concern. If you told me today Id never have to be concerned about insurance coverage or medical expenses Id legitimately probably retire right now and be happily unemployed. --- PSN ID: sled_dogs76 60" Pioneer Kuro Elite PRO151FD, Yamaha RX-V3900 A/V Receiver, Oppo DV983-H player. I felt like I needed work quick with 40k and the rejection emails are terrible. I couldn't even be bothered to play pc games with all my free time.Looks like it depends on what is meant by "with money". There is enoygh to be okay out of work for awhile as you search, and then there is set for life. I know from my experience earlier this year that the former is still very stressful. While I wasn't anywhere close to in trouble yet, partly because I had severance, I had this fear that it would take me well over 6 months (if not over a year) to find a job and then it would have become an issue. It's been exactly 7 months now since I've been unemployed. I literally just got off a panel interview an hour ago and made it home now. I got lucky last month with a lot of interviews, but even the interviews/screening are more competitive then they were 3 years ago because they're going through more candidates. The place I just interviewed at is interviewing 4 other people, and I don't know how many of those will be moved to round 2. For all those our there unemployed.. Keep applying and learning skills at home that could be relevant to the job, if possible. Prioritize your physical and mental health in thee meantime and keep a routine going and do something productive everyday. That's how I keep my sanity. My expectations are low..I'm dipping into my savings now since I ran out of unemployment 2 weeks ago.
