Amazing, but loses some score to the slow pace at times and the poor presentation. Granted I probably should've gotten a voice acting patch or something instead of going with the raw Steam version.

9. With Umineko I can go back over all the slow parts on a replay and see them all on a new, fascinating light. With Higurashi I want to skip the begining few hours of the first few episodes. Still amazing all told.

I meant that voice acting could help with the poor presentation problem. I don't really feel the game deserves a 9 or higher when it's mostly just a big blob of text on a screen with subtle visual indicators as to who's even talking.

Gonna go potentially controversial here and say that Higurashi has an issue where I don't like any of the 3 art styles you can choose from. This isn't like Umineko where you get to use the gorgeous PS3 sprites that I feel heavily improved my investment throughout. With Higurashi, not only do I not love the options (despite one definitely being better), there's the direct comparison of all of them looking worse than EITHER of the Higurashi anime art styles.

Even on the actual Ryukishi art side for those who like that OG amateur charm, Higurashi just looks so much worse than Umineko.

Of course, everything looks better than the default Steam/Pachinko Umineko nightmare.
