from what i heard of this game, it always seemed like gooning bait the way people described it due to... erm, obvious reasons. >_>

i picked it up recently. few hours in and im enjoying the hell out of it! the combat in this is top notch! feels like a hack n slash fused with Souls like but with way more of the former! i never get tired of running around and slashing random enemies, even if its just to farm XP to unlock new powers and shit. its really that fun!

soundtrack is great too btw!

It was my GOTY last year. Really fun stuff, looking forward to the sequel.

Gooner Blade is pretty fun and goon material. The perfect combination!

I loved it for awhile and then it got very repetitive. Can use the same combat moves for 95% of the game. Last few bosses made me switch up a little.

Ultimately, I gave it a 7 / 10

the story so far is pretty "meh" tho. and i think i'll switch the language cause the english voice acting is kinda cringe. like why does almost everyone have a british accent? lol

oh man i watched some cutscenes on youtube. i really wish english voice acting was taken seriously. it never will be, since most people are fine with it across the board. but this one is BAD bad

Its a great game, but as another comment mentioned, the combat feels repetitive after a while. Once you understand how to approach everything, its pretty easy for the most part. That final boss was tough though. Graphics and music are awesome. The side quests are not great.

I need to get back to it.
I had actually gotten decent at it, but then DK came out and I dropped it

word, most of these side quests feel pretty bland: just go to a place, interact with something or pick up an object and voil!

at least its a good way to farm resources and money... lol >_>

The story is a worse Nier, but overall I enjoyed it. The music is criminally underrated and the combat is good. I put my eve in a hoodie and jeans so I ain't gooning over here

The story is dumb and feels like babys first dystopian story

The combat and exploration are pretty fun.

I wish it just didnt feel like Nier the whole time. Sexy robot lady. Ominous chorus music. Dodge combat.

Thought I'd enjoy the game... Got stuck stupid early and ended up giving up...

To be honest, I feel like people are too shitty about the story. I think it's very servicable and even decently fine. If I were to listen to people talk about it, I'd imagine it was the worst thing ever. It's not gonna win any writing awards, but I never felt I was being shortchanged on anything.

I think the game itself, though... it has more low points than high points for me. Particularly low is the open world zones. Dunno if TC is there yet so spoiler warnings, but I also feel like the combat gets repetitive and see little reason to experiment deeply with the many combo options. A few of them always just seem superior in every situation.

I think the problem is with the way that... Certain people talk about it you would assume its the greatest game of all time and cured all societies ills, But no. The story is serviceable, But its not ground breaking, Its a just good game

And really thats all that should be said about the game.. its a solid 7-7.5 out of 10, the gameplay is great, Music is great, Visuals are fine, but nothing is really groundbreaking, its just a refined good game

Its just a shame that a Certain group of Assholes only cared about the game because they feel the need goon all over it and obsess over the MC to an unhealthy degree, If you swapped out the MC for a Guy it wouldn't have been anywhere near as popular

It's a game that's less than the sum of its parts, but they are some very impressive parts. Very much feels like Nier at home. It has all the surface level stuff, the gameplay is pretty solid and the production values are stellar (heh) but it never quite delivers on the things that influenced it

yeah, i reached one of the first open-world areas ("Wasteland" in this case). cant say im a fan of them tbh. way too many empty spaces and it can get tiresome running around from one place to another. this game works better with more closed areas tbh...

I was pleasantly surprised by the game and ended up loving it.

Kinda fell off though late game because I got distracted by hunting all the soda cans and burned myself out lol.

I'll probably reinstall and finish up the last few hours sometime. >_>

Knock off nier automata

The music in the game is amongst the best I've heard. Combat is fun if a little repetitive. I average about 100fps at 1440 (max settings), and the game is gorgeous.

its a fun 7.8/10 game

it actually got more enjoyable when I unlocked a more normal outfit

I enjoyed Stellar Blade overall, but I think it's one of many games that would have benefit from having a smaller scope by being a more linear experience.

maybe if we got a vehicle to move around and these open world areas had more shit to see and do, i could like them more... lol

Interesting, that's the same reason I fell off Nier: Automata.

I would have liked a different biome to 'sandy wasteland'. The small city sections were nice, except no map functionality (what was up with that?). Was the map you find in the library in the first area meant to indicate the game takes place somewhere in the Middle East?

Games can be good and gooner bait. Unlikely, but not impossible.
