I generally highly dislike sci-fi especially anything to do with space. With that said I enjoyed the comedy "Avenue 5" on HBO for some laughs but I really like Josh Gad and I like Hugh Laurie. CRON posted... What don't you like about space? It's just a setting I dislike. Especially in games where they tend to do like a blend of military in space. It just is something I don't like. Same way with how I don't like first person shooters but especially military first person shooters. Or anything to do with zombies/infected/mutants. There are exceptions though. For instance the movie Passengers I quite liked. So I won't rule everything out 100% but most of the time yeah it is stuff I don't like. --- PSN ID: sled_dogs76 60" Pioneer Kuro Elite PRO151FD, Yamaha RX-V3900 A/V Receiver, Oppo DV983-H player. Star Trek is a good baseline for TV sci fi. The Next Generation is a good starting point for it, though the first few seasons are rough. CRON posted... What don't you like about space?Space settings are tricky for me because the tendency is to replace the unknown with the made up. A bit of that is, of course, part of what makes sci-fi what it is. But with space settings in particular, it's frequently taken to extremes that I just don't like at all. I'm talking the Star Wars type of thing where they go to all the different planets and meet all the different species and yadda yadda. My preference is more for cases where it's largely plausible, not just in terms of physics, but in terms of just not making up so many things. 2001 and Alien did a good job of this. Yeah, they made up the monsters/monoliths, but they're first of all mysterious (thanks Alien prequels /s) and secondly, one or two elements in a universe that is otherwise reasonably similar to ours, just in a believable future. --- Arguing on CE be all like: https://youtu.be/JpRKrs67lOs?si=kPGA2RCKVHTdbVrJ ...
