They should have proper security at this trashy event. And not that it would excuse twitch not paying for security, but they shouldnt have banned Emirus personal security if they werent going to provide their own. Why arent the event handlers being held accountable?

This kind of fame and fanbase is entirely built on unhealthy parasocial obsession. There's no actual product there (like there is with actors and musicians), the only reason to engage at all is an imagined personal connection.

So inevitably these streamers are going to be the target for this kind of incident. Which makes proper security absolutely essential. Twitch was negligent here, and it could have been much worse.

Vtubers are the smart ones that keep themselves anonymous and have better chance of not having to deal with this shit.

I feel awful for Emiru. She should sue the fuck out of Twitch until they finally get their heads out of their asses.

If they are, I doubt they ever talk about politics in her chat. Because from what I know of her, she doesnt really engage in any political talk. Not to mention that Assboymolds audience would be watching his streams since he streams for long periods of time, so Emirus streams probably start and end while his streams are ongoing.

Emiru posted. Apparently the guy went through several barriers without being opposed. There was no security near her. The guy that pushed him away wasn't even security himself. The women who guided her away was her own manager and not Twitch staff. Twitch lied about a few other things too.

They can't put a ban on twitch itself. They don't get the same numbers on YouTube and most aren't going to want to go to chud-ville (Kick).

Now I could absolutely see streamers start just not going to twitch-con.

I think she's part of a company he is involved with or used to be involved with. Also she once visited his house with another guy and Asmongold cooked steaks for them

Hopefully she sues Twitch for this (first banning her security guard, who clearly was needed here, and then for not immediately kicking the assaulter out of the venue)

I wouldn't be surprise if Twitch announces that they are going to cancel Twitch Con at this point...or at least not make it a requirement to have a meet and greet if you plan on having a panel there.

Twitch likely won't do anything besides promise they'll do better next time.

Meanwhile what most likely will happen is that big streamers opt out of going because twitch has shown they don't care about safety.

So instead of calling out Twitch and imploring them to do better, Hasan does this instead.

Ya Im still stunned that they had a shallow foam pit over concrete, someone broke their back, and basically nothing happened. Adriana should have sued the crap out of them

Sexual assault is bad in all situations. Regardless of what Emiru may or may not support, she didn't deserve this.

To suggest otherwise is to suggest that sexual assault is ""acceptable"" under certain conditions.

Yeah, I was less sure of Twitch itself. It would be almost like boycotting YouTube, it's too big a platform.

Sexual assault is never okay or justifiable and it's a damn shame there didn't appear to be the bare minimum effort put towards common sense security measures.

With that said I can't help but think about how widespread these concerns are among influencers and creators since their livelihoods and the companies that employ them hinge upon encouraging parasocial relationships. Is it even possible to shift towards a more safe and respectful culture?

I dont see how she couldnt press charges against both the dude (obviously for the sexual assault) and twitch (for failing its duty of care, negligence etc)
