https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/29/polls/israel-gaza-war-us-poll.html

A majority of American voters now oppose sending additional economic and military aid to Israel, a stunning reversal in public opinion since the Oct. 7 attacks. About six out of 10 voters said that Israel should end its military campaign, even if the remaining Israeli hostages were not released or Hamas was not eliminated. And 40 percent of voters said Israel was intentionally killing civilians in Gaza, nearly double the number of voters who agreed with that statement in the 2023 poll.

I'm actually watching an NHK special on Palestine right now (they have a cameraman embedded in Gaza). I think the rise of social media, as much negative aspects as it has had, has allowed Americans to finally see things they normally would not. When you actually see video of IDF killing civilians you are able to dismiss the propaganda about them being "the most moral army".

I still cant believe Israel calls itself that. Its like satire or something.

There's a large percentage that didn't know or didn't respond. So we end up with about 41% that either think they aren't intentionally killing civilians or are taking sufficient precautions. Hard to know which side would top 50% if they had been forced to choose.

We also have a poll showing most support Palestinian statehood:
https://thehill.com/policy/international/5567904-most-in-us-support-palestinian-state-recognition-survey/

It's possible that once the old guard of pro-Israel not matter what politicians in the US government are replaced that the majority will be able to change course on US policy towards Israel.

While that would be fantastic, I sadly think it is also fantastical. I think the US in particular would never significantly change course on Israel. Small changes sure, it happened before, as some presidents like Carter and Reagan exerted some pressure on Israel and were critical of some of its actions. But I don't see it ever being anything beyond that.
Hopefully I am wrong in that though.

Wars are televised these days and it's harder to stop media. That's the difference between this war and the war in Afghanistan. If people saw the videos on ground zero more. They wouldn't have let Bush carry on

Unless you believe Democrats are leading the charge on antisemitism, it's not "MTG Antisemitism" since as the graph shows it's basically entirely Democrats and moderates leading the shift. Republicans still overwhelmingly support Israel.

From the article:
Much of the shift in views on Israel has been driven by a sharp decline in support by Democratic voters. Republicans largely continue to support Israel, though there has been a modest decline.

Nearly two years ago, Democrats were evenly divided, with 34 percent sympathizing with Israel and 31 percent with Palestinians. Now, rank-and-file Democrats across the country overwhelmingly side with Palestinians 54 percent said they sympathized more with Palestinians, while only 13 percent expressed greater empathy for Israel.

Support for israel is dropping imo due to increased awareness of the genocide. The us has always been antisemitic and thats pretty much been a constant. If declining support was due mostly to antisemitism, we wouldve seen this trend happen much earlier imo.

Republicans support Israel wholeheartedly, but they're a very antisemitic party because they're full of Christian nationalists who have supercessionist views on Jews anyways.

We're about to see a test of this with Democratic voters in Illinois and Maine where a Hamas apologist is up for Congress and the most prominent progressive politician in the country just tried to excuse a dude having a literal SS tattoo yesterday

Also, they support Israel because they believe that Israel is needed to usher in the literal Rapture and end of days. I don't think they could care much less about the Jewish people in Israel

Cool down dude, I was saying they are only getting into the whole anti-American support for Israel thing like MTG because they are antisemitic, just like MTG. Many people think MTG has turned over a new leaf on Israel because shes been outspoken lately, but its really because she so antisemitic, not because shes a good person all of a sudden.
