I'm going DCU here.

I've always felt iron man 1 was overrated and hulk is a bad movie..eventually MCU became great

I know peacemaker 2 ending has people annoyed but the show as a whole is devent

Edit: DCU has creature commandos as well

Havent seen peacemaker, but iron man is an amazing movie period. Incredible hulk was fun, nothing mindblowing.

superman 2025 i liked but honestly, aside from the colors and tone, man of steel was better.

maybe if i see peacemaker ill change my mind if its amazing but i hate watching tv

I think officially yes but in most people's minds it started with superman

I thought Superman was pretty bad and have only seen the first couple of episodes of season 1 of Peacemaker.

I like both Ironman and The Incredible Hulk, and feel like The Incredible Hulk gets unfairly shit on all the time.

Iron Man by itself gives this to MCU, IMO

Iron Man is better than Creature Commandos, Superman, and Peacemaker Season 2.

Superman was a fun flick, but Iron Man was so good that everyone basically forgets all the early MCU hiccups in hindsight.

Iron Man is the only reason the DCU exists. Full stop.

Iron Man is the reason the genre continued into what it became. It was arguably the best first step that could have been taken. A strong well made action flick with a charismatic character people wanted to see more of.

Had Iron Man flopped (and not been good enough to maintain interest) there would have been no Avengers, no MCU, and therefore no attempts to ape the MCU by Warner Brothers.

Meanwhile the DCU's first two entries are, lets be real for a moment here, lacklustre at best. Superman did nothing to set the world on fire (sub-$700m is basically close to a flop, the opposite of starting strong) and Peacemaker... Unless you already care about the DCU odds are, like me, you know nothing about it nor care about it.

Iron Man provided the most fertile soil you could ever want to grow a cinematic universe and brand from. Superman 2025? Not so much. Just another flick to pass the time with and from what I can gather that's largely all its viewed as. And as Superman is one of the A listers (the other being Batman obviously) I'd say the DCU isn't long for this world as a brand.

I'm not even a big MCU fan but I really like the first Iron Man movie.

I get what you're saying about iron man but Superman box office is good.

750mil is high for a movie today. Almost nothing makes that anymore unless it's a family animated movie or dinosaurs

Superman only made like 615mil at the box office tho

It was eclipsed by F1 which is not a family animated movie nor about dinosaurs

Obviously there will be outlier movies but their exceptions not the norm. This was made by a guy who made top gun maverick and that grossed over 1 billion

The fact of the matter is, look at box office of movies in the 2010s and 2020s, comic book movies have collapsed a bit and in general box office is down. 750mil is harder now than before. Its an arbitrary point you chose to determine success and isn't based on any logic

The movies to ourgross Superman this year are:

Ne zha 2. A one market movie and no one knows who reliable it's numbers even are

Lili and stitch which crawled to one billion

Minecraft, based on a mega popular game. Mario showed the ceiling is high for video game movies

Jurassic world, dinos sell worldwide and even that's on a downward trend

Demon slayer- rising anime popularity worldwide. First of its kind to reach this success. Either an outlier or sign of things to come.

How to train your dragon- family friendly movie

Those are the only movies to beat Superman this year
