I actually liked him quite a bit, I was going to romance him, then he no homo'd me after taking me up alone to see the romantic view on top of the water tower after inviting me to meet his family.

Apparently he and Takemura were the same character for quite a while in development, then they were split into the roles they have now which is why his questline is so short and separate from the rest of the story.

Credits rolling. I did the ending where I let Johnny take over and he raids Arasaka with Rogue. I didn't want the aldercado's getting slaughtered in there and I didn't really think Hanako was trustworthy.

Amazing game, it was so good. Phantom Liberty ended up being a bit better than the main game, but the main game is no slouch.

Debating whether I do one of the other endings or save them for when I eventually replay.

The guy who showed up at the end was the Illusive Man or some shit

Blue Eyed Man is what he's usually called. This is most overt appearance but he shows up in a few other places.

One is actually when you take Songbird to the moon.

Lots of rumours and/or thoughts about him, most common seems to be that he is an AI from beyond the wall. But there is very little in game about who or what he is.

He shows up in several side quests too.

Theres also a fun little detail with the Peralez missions. At the end when you go to meet Peralez in the park (or wherever that location was) where you can tell him about what you found out during the mission or keep it a secret, if you look over at one of the balconies nearby you can spot the Blue Eyed Man watching over your conversation with Peralez. You can even go over to him, though he wont have any interactions you can do with him.

I can't remember if it has been posted, but one of my favorite scenes from Phantom Liberty was when Alex and V dance to that one song .

it just felt like a real human moment to me, but idk if it was skippable or not.

I also thought it was badass when you motioned to Alex, and she killed that one leader of Dog Town.

but iirc, you only see that if you certain paths during the DLC.

I always do the Johnny ending as soon as it unlocks, just to get some of the ending rewards.

Then the 'caldos are for the actual canon ending.

Arasaka and the DLC ending are both done once for achievements and then ignored.

Unless you're a dumbass like me and *Late Act 2 spoilers* didn't realize you can save Takamura after the parade, because you only get the Devil (Arasaka) ending achievement if he survives, because then you have to do it twice.

That one annoys me for one reason: the guy has three Iconic weapons: A pistol, a knife, and an LMG.

The pistol and knife are designed to work together, they literally name-drop each other in their descriptions.

You only get both of them in one path.

whyyyyyyyyyyy

Yeah.

You can either take the stairs or jump up through the holes in the ceiling.

The vast majority of people miss it, because everything's feeling a little time-sensitive and Keanu's yelling at you to move it.

Yeah I think they added an on screen prompt for it in a patch because originally so many people missed it. But you might still have to go in a certain direction for even that to pop up.

Also doing the "Don't Fear The Reaper ending where you storm Arasaka solo is a satisfying ending and my second preferred one behind the "Star"

Lol I actually got lucky here. I had just discovered the double jump cyberware shortly before starting this mission, so my first thought was "fuck you Johnny I'm going back for mah boi. If I hadn't had that fresh in my mind I probably wouldn't have thought to look for the other path.

I was half-wrong, it's only one that name-drops the other, but it's in the worst way.

This gun drops every time (couldn't find a good picture of the item card, best I've got):

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/a/ac7a9999.jpg

Fang being this knife (with a substantially better pic):

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/1/1454594b.jpg

The thing is, Fang only drops on one route, you only get it if you side with Reed.

He always has the pistol and the LMG, included because I am annoying about this game:

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/b/b9cadacf.jpg

That's the one that should have been route-locked, just because it doesn't have interaction.

Can't you still get it from a certain vendor regardless?

Yes the Dogtown vendor has all the special weapons you may have missed from not doing quests your path ( ie Corpo)

Nope.

The Iconic vendor sells items you missed that dropped during the quest you specifically did (typically involving areas you can't go back inside), as well as any connected to Lifepath quests (Apparition from Corpo quest being the only one I know of offhand).

So if you miss Nehan or Satori during the Heist, Cottonmouth at Clouds, a situation where you had the opportunity but just didn't spot it, he'll have it. I always find Errata there, it drops during one of Judy's quests (saving Evelyn) and I forget it's there every single time.

He does not stock items that you miss because of your choices. So during the Act One Drone mission, you can't get Doom-Doom AND Sir John by hitting up the vendor, because (unless you do some specific shenanigans) Doom-Doom only appears if Dum-Dum is alive in Act 3, Sir John only appears if you meet up with Meredith in Act 2, and those are mutually exclusive.

He's there to make sure you don't lock yourself out of an item by not being thorough, not to just collect and offer everything.
