Nah, rant away. And she's there fully in person? I can sort of kinda get once a week or so, but fully? Nah
That's terrible. Can she negotiate remote work due to those circumstances?
Gotta prop up the commercial real estate market somehow.
I honestly dont understand this mindset. The last place I would want to work is at home and I say that as an introvert. You have to work 8 hours regardless. People like me have 45-minute commutes (more like 55-1hr+ commutes with traffic being busier now) which means at least an hour and a half of my day is spent in a car. On top of that, there's more prep time in the morning to get ready. On top of that, if I arrive after 8:30, parking is $25 along with the gas money... it's not worth.

As a person who trains all the new hires at my job, I absolutely care about this. Wrestling with VPNs, video conferencing software, home Internet connections, etc. can be a pain in the ass and training in office avoids dealing with all of that. It's just much easier.
For everything else, yeah I'd much rather be remote.
I guess part of the difference is I dont fight traffic. I really dont get upset if traffic is moving slow or I catch all the red lights. It is what it is and getting mad doesnt help anything.
I see other people swerving around and honking their horns like maniacs who look like their heads are about to explode. I dont understand this mindset either.

Sounds like youve been lucky enough to never work for a company that writes you up because you were late due to not having psychic abilities letting you know to leave an hour early to avoid the car wreck on the main road to workDont excuse shitty driving because of a bad poster
most of those angry drivers are in a rush and getting pissed because theyll be homeless if theyre not clocked in on time.
I recently had to go to the office just for one whole day and that was too much for me.
Let that shit burn. Actually just outright confiscate it and repurpose/rebuild as actual fucking housing.Word.
bUt iTs gOod to CoLLaBorAtE in PeRsOn shut the fuck up no one cares about talking to their teammates in person instead of through teams or zoomI feel you. I don't even work in the same building as anyone else on my team & my office is away from the other people who do work at that location so I'm still trying to figure out why they made me go back to the office lol
I honestly dont understand this mindset. The last place I would want to work is at home and I say that as an introvert. For me, the biggest advantage was that I'm a single parent. I was able to be home with my kid. I didn't have to worry about who was going to watch my kid while I'm working.
Imagine people that show up to work every day.
I bet alot of the people here working from home instead of the office actually depend on amazon workers (people who show up to work).

My brother in law works HR for the government in DC. Has been remote for a couple years now. I think theyre (not him, his bosses) are pushing to get people back in the office. His boss told him the reason is literally the economy in DC. With all those people remotely working, money isnt being spent in DC that was previously. Its so stupid.See, that's all the more reason why office space should be replaced with housing. That'll bring money back to those areas just instead of businesses serving people who work in the area it would be people who live in the area.
