Episode 1: The Phantom Menace

Maybe even Attack of the Clones.

I'm about 90 minutes in so far and give it about a 4/10

I don't know if it's the acting or what but I kind of don't like it
I see the world through Fibonacci sequences and double dutch
I enjoyed it

For me it was the complete lack of likable characters and any semblance of emotion that brought it down. I didnt care about anyone or anything happening.

Some stuff looked cool though.

I thought this would be like one of your topics where you're like, "the Bye Bye Man is a great movie!"

I'm still angry that I watched that one
Don't you agree, Zach?

Sounds about right for the YA genre. I usually dont go for that kind of schlock but maybe it happened to catch me in a good mood or something.

I still feel bad about that lol.

For the record I dont think its terrible. Just mostly dull and poorly written, like The Phantom Menace.

The implication here is that AotC is better than TPM, and I am not about that.

So far better than Rise of Skywalker?
Cel Damage! Tonight at 8:00!
I dug it. Only complaint is, the constant slowdown during fight scenes was a big over used. Leg sweep? Slow down. Pulling the trigger? Slow down. Stopping to pick their nose? You better believe you're gonna get a long excruciating slow down.

Do they have similar shit to Jedis and stuff? I never cared for anything in Star Wars other than Jedi stuff.
Don't like it? Don't watch it. It's that simple

Sounds pretty much like a Zak Snyder movie to me.
Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read.
I might lose any film cred I have but I enjoyed it. Gave it a 7, or 3.5 stars out of 5 on Letterboxd. My short spoiler-free review:

Zack Snyder. One of the most divisive directors today - mega nerds love him, critics hate him. I usually fall in the middle and this is no exception.

This movie is completely ridiculous with stolen ideas from many better films and cardboard characters. But damn it looks great, has style, and I was entertained all the way through. That alone puts it above most of the superhero movies released this year, other than Across the Spider-Verse and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 of course.
Currently playing: haven't played anything since August. Something is wrong with me!

No, but there are lightsabers.

Its so damn bad.
Writing horrible,
acting is maybe the stiffest Ive ever seen.
Some of these leads are showing ZERO emotion through the whole movie. Dramatic scenes or whatever and their facial expressions are the exact same as when they were happy and fine.

and direction is so bad, lens flares everywhere, half the shots have parts of it blurry be it a corner, or all the top or bottom. plus they way how all backgrounds are CG it makes all the outside shots like the backgrounds are always flat with no depth.

Plus every action scene is just slow mo, after slow mo, after slow mo.
Seriously do we need 5 different slow motion shots in a single minute?

Charlie Hunnam was straight up awful.

Technically there's a jedi-ish thing with the princess in the flashback but at least for part 1 it's not really a thing in the story.
It says right here in Matthew 16:4 "Jesus doth not need a giant Mecha."

Watched it last night. I thought it was awesome and can't wait for part 3. Kora is a babe.
