been playing the new path of exile 1 league

there weren't a ton of crazy new mechanics or anything since they're definitely focusing lots of effort on PoE2 but there was a full overhaul of my favourite class's skill tree so it's been feeling fresh

Yakuza 5 and Ace Attorney 5

The former, well, the story has a lot of details that don't make any sense, and it's really starting to add up to an overall story that doesn't make sense. But it's a fun play and the characters are cool I guess.

The latter, I wasn't a fan of at first but it's growing on me. I'm currently on the space mission one, and they really pulled out the absolute most entertaingly enthusiastic nutcases they could write for this one, lol.

Been playing Fantasy Life i, and I've been loving it. I really enjoyed the 3DS game and I'm also a big fan of cozy "do your own thing" games.
Wild ARMs is still the best JRPG series in my opinion and we desperately need a new game in the series!

Got a lot of games on the backburner, but having a bit of a Xenoblade kick, so mostly Xenoblade & Xenoblade X Definitive Editions, between sessions of Stellaris. Also, trimmed my gacha focus to mostly Honkai Star Rail.
Remember kids, it's only an RPG until someone gets hit with a meteor; Then it's a JRPG!

Replaying Dark Souls 2 again. I've played it as a pure sorcerer, hexer, pyromancer and archer; all ranged combat. Melee is my least favorite style, but this time I'm doing a mace run. (After playing Dark Souls with only clubs.)

And now I can see the problems that so many people have with DS2. It's still my favorite, but melee combat really sucks in this game. I got pretty good at parrying in Dark Souls but I can not get the timing down in 2. The weapon durability is bullshit, even with the ring on. The backstabs are weird. And hitboxes are extra wonky. I won't even get started on the rolling as a melee build.

Like I said, overall 2 is still my favorite, but I now understand a lot of the hate it gets. I was just always playing ranged which is really fun in this game.

Wizardry: Variants Daphne - Amazing. One of the best mobile free games ever. I love dungeon crawlers and there's lots of exploration for a free game.

Bombergirl - Online Arcade bomberman game that links to a Konami E-Amusement card. I have a good enough number of characters unlocked that I can very well enjoy it online. (You only start with 4 and get one gacha pull a day. I have about 15 of the characters unlocked at this point.)

Balatro - On and off play this in transit. Got 3 gold stakes complete. Most of the challenges done.

Dragon Quest Tact - I don't play this AS much anymore, but fun to poke at once in a while.

Magic Knight Rayearth SNES RPG - Just started this a few weeks ago. Another transit game for me. Was recommended by a con staffer I know.

Currently playing Medieval Dynasty. I don't know what it is about this game but I can't stop playing it. Even when I do play something else I eventually come back to this.

I bought Serious Sam 4 today for $6. I haven't played it yet (I swear I will after one of these seasons in MD). I was looking for a mindless shooter and was going to get Postal 4 but was told that it sucked. When someone suggested Serious Sam I said why not.

Xenoblade Chronicles X - Postgame, doing quests and trying to get all the fashion gear choices and holofigures.

Mega Man Legacy Collection - Finished MMBN 1, doing some of it's postgame and will be starting MMBN 2 soon.
Against stupidity, the gods themselves contend in vain.

I tried out some Death Stranding 2, but I wasn't feeling it, so I started a game of the Rise of the Golden Idol.

it's a cool mystery game, where you need to put the clues of each scene to figure out what happened.

there also seems to be some overall connection but I haven't figured it out yet.

I've never heard of Rise of the Golden Idol so I looked it up and it sounds pretty cool, whishlisted it. There is also a game called Case of the Golden Idol by the same developers and that seems interesting too.

They are both amazing. For a similar game there is The Roottrees are Dead.

The game has a couple of funky bits in terms of the logical leaps (as in, it wants you to delve into lines of inquiry that feel absurd to recognize without a hint) in the second part but the game is a blast from start to finish. Definitely worth playing for anyone who likes deductive-reasoning games.
