They've only dubbed 9 episodes so far, and they're a selection of episodes focused around the Black Organization. I gave it about five minutes and I'm not especially thrilled with the dub itself.

Also they're just using Japanese names. No more "Jimmy Kudo" or "Rachel Moore".

Is it the same dub as Tubi?

... I need to just source the funimation DVDs from my sister at this point.

Oh boy, now people can experience over 1000 episodes of filler in English.

Wow so like 991 episodes left to catch up to absolutely nothing happening

I doubt you have to worry about 990+ episodes. I think most of the show has never been dubbed. That's what it seemed like when I looked into it before
i see no reason to get into this series to be honest

its story refuses to end

and the fact the MC refuses to tell his GF what happened to him to "protect" her is so fucking stupid as it does not protect her at all
3 things 1. i am female 2. i havea msucle probelm its hard for me to typ well 3.*does her janpuu dance*
lol more people have probably died in this show than even currently live in Japan. I used to be into it before realizing it was gonna outlive me.
I disposed of doubt long ago.
This will be a day long remembered.
Love me some Detective Conan. (Subbed for me though.)
But I'm several hundred episodes behind and haven't watched in years.

Btw, an odd thing about this series is that, iirc, most of it is filler.
Most of the episodes are just a common detective show with a different murder and culprit each time. Cozy time waster but nothing significant.
But then there are those few episodes that really matter for the plot and main characters, and those can get quite good. The movies sometimes too.

Edit: Well, it's not the greatest anime or anything, but there's just something endearing about it.
What a fuddy duddy.
Neat, I hope it does well
also, everyone just needs to accept Detective Conan as an episodic mystery show, everything else is just set dressing

Makes me wonder how the wikia looks like

Like someone out there kept track of all the alive/dead people

I keep dying in Odin Sphere!
pls send help
Since they are using the Japanese names, I assume they are using the Japanese openings right? I kinda miss the dubbed opening.

Also it all happens in a short period i think. Despite the show being i think more than 20 years old (I went to Japan in 2004 and I remember seeing Detective Conan manga in my host family house) I believe in the story, less than 1 year has actually passed
I really liked the show when I was a kid - and being a fun little episodic crime show is IMO probably better than trying to give any kind of actual resolution to a lot of the silliness going on. One of the times filler is just like, enjoyable. Its still a fun mystery, and its always something new or different from the last one.

Its quite formulaic, but the mysteries are fun, and the silly side moments of "Jimmy needs to basically frame his incompetent guardian for solving the crime" and "Jimmy's girlfriend knows that Jimmy is the kid, but can't really prove it and for reasons Jimmy needs to convince her otherwise".

Definitely felt weird that first episode with them having regular japanese names instead of weird dubs names like Jimmy or Rachel.
I stopped watching when they teased Conan battling the Black Organization but it never went anywhere after a few episodes

I saw this and didn't watch but wondered how they chose those 9 episodes

Loved the show when it first came to the US

The weirdest part is the technology in the show actually updates as time goes on, but yeah totally happens within a year lmao

Yeah, it feels wrong seeing the characters with smartphones and stuff lol.
What a fuddy duddy.
People who complain about "filler" in Conan perplex me. It's an episodic detective series.

Let's get rid of all the "filler" in CSI and Sherlock Holmes. >_>

Though it honestly is impressive it lasted this long.
