Disgaea 7, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, or YS: X.

Was looking at the switch sale, and wanted something laid back and rpgish.

Had completely forgotten these came out, and couldnt decide what to get. What should I go for?

*playing on switch2

I have Dragon Quest Monsters and it's pretty fun, but I became way too obsessed with just fusing monsters together rather than advancing the story and burned myself out as soon as I unlocked that function. It's a pretty bad habit of mine in this type of game lol
is disgaea 7 any good? I played 6 for a while and it felt kind of bad to play compared to 5.

The reviews I read were positive and said it mostly went back to the old systems, with more classes than ever + new classes and auto battle mostly gone.

besides that I have no idea

Is this regular Switch? Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma has a Switch 2 upgrade and it's a great game. If it's just Switch 1, I'd say get DQM and wait for RF but otherwise get RF.

As a huge Disgaea fan, I'm leaning that way. If you're playing on Switch and not Switch 2, I heard the experience wasn't as great though. But from your list of games? I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.
I have a switch 2, probably should have said that in the op

Rune Factory it is then. DQM has a demo at least to try so you can see how it runs on Switch 2 and your progress does carry over (except for your monster levels).

Dark Prince might be a big step back from 3, but it's still excellent and very much worth playing.

My FC is in my profile.
Avoid Ys X for now. Right after they realized it in the West they announced an upgraded version that's including new content and story so wait for that

RFGoA is damned fun. Bit of a strange departure with the city builder bit from previous RF titles, but I'm enjoying it.
Ended up getting rune factory.

It was what I had originally opened the shop to buy, but then I started looking around and couldnt decide.

It and disgaea were the two that werent on sale.

I know you already made your choice but just as a late add on I'm a Rune Factory fanboy that pretty much always will vote for that. I love that series so much and still reminisce and talk about when they were able to stretch their legs and make a PS3 game. Tides of Destiny was so charming and fun. I loved that game so much.

I'm also a big fan of Disgaea and it is hard to go wrong there. Kind of funny my two preferences are the only two not on sale.

Enjoy man, have fun.
