I see so many men not washing their hands after using a public bathroom. It's a moral and hygiene outrage . CE, what should we do?

Well we've tried education, shaming, fines, and exclusion and all that just made them even more determined to be anti-social assholes so prison seems the only option left.

I'm less bothered by this when I realise how many infinitely more body-material sharing things we do every day that no one cares about

When was the last time you cleaned your steering wheel? Probably has 5 years worth of sweaty palm dead skin baked into it, but no one cares about stuff like that

How often do people go around sanitising door handles

If you picked out a hair from your dinner imagine what other things were in there

Imagine how much dead skin is in bread

Do you always make sure the toilet is sealed when flushing or are you just now realising that the entire bathroom is caked in literal shit particles

etc.

Im sure theres also women who dont wash their hands but I cant confirm since Ive only used mens bathrooms. But yeah Im always disgusted by people who walk out without washing their hands and I always judge them

Putting some kind of dye marker in every drink, so when it comes out as piss, it stains your hands if you don't wash.

Then you know who and what to avoid.

I will rinse them off if I hadn't done so in a little while. Like if I washed my hands in the last 2 hours I probably won't rinse. If it's been 2 hours or more then I will rinse. If it's been a while I will full wash. But in general I don't wash my hands after each piss. Edit: If I'm about to go eat I will wash my hands.

If it's about a poo, then no, I wash my hands. I've shamed someone at work for not doing it.

Seriously, people (and yeah, its mostly men, Ive seen staff touch their dicks using the urinal and not wash afterwards at the college I was doing my NHS course at) not washing their hands properly with soap aggravates me. And they want to touch you afterwards? Fuck that lol.

Handwashing doesn't make your hands sterile, so it would go off regardless of whether you've washed your hands or not. The point to handwashing is minimizing the spread of pathogens.

Again, it's about the pathogens, not skin cells. I absolutely wash my hands when I come home after touching those public doors/rails/etc. And yes, I close the lid when I flush. Shit particles are an inevitability but that's why you're supposed to clean your bathroom often (and wash your fucking hands).

I've seen guys taking a dump and just walk out the restroom without washing anything. That's really gross, and I feel bad for the place he works at where he touches everything in the office

Maybe something in the same spirit as those anti-theft devices. We splash them with dye to mark them as they walk out the door if they didn't wash first.

A well-maintained, clean bathroom. I have felt discouraged from touching anything if the sink area is gross but then I think twice and force myself anyway. And there've been plenty of times when the automatic faucet or paper towel sensors straight-up do not work.

But if the bathroom is clean and functional, some people will be shamed into not feeling like the dirtiest thing in the facility and washing their damn hands.
