I disagree. I don't think they will cut a deal. Deals are worthless in this and opens them to liability from consumers

Also, I think vaccines kind of ended up as a victim of their own success. Mass death from disease, until COVID-19 broke out, kinda stopped being a thing long enough for many people to forget about the very real dangers involved with common diseases. People, particularly those who didn't study much history or biology in school, think of the flu as just feeling crummy for a few days rather than your body accidentally drowning you within your own lungs in its desperate final attempt to flush out the pathogens and/or your brain being pan-fried inside your own skull because your body is trying to burn the virus to death.

And the 1918-1920 influenza outbreak and polio and smallpox's eradication ('59) are still in recent memory despite creeping up or passing the 100-year mark, and the loss of a couple generations' wort of people from all of those probably left a significant legacy on our country, too.

It's wild... but it's not really a surprise.

It would have happened no matter what due to MAGA, but there were some inexcusable bungles during early COVID by officials that ruined a lot of peoples' trust in the messenging. Telling people to "stay home" as a mantra was never going to work and was objectively wrong anyway when the CDC's own website encouraged people to go outside and get fresh air, for example.
