What kind of GPU do you have? You might be using your integrated graphics on accident.
Make sure your display is plugged into the GPU and not the motherboard. The one that runs horizontally.
You're out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource. Make sure your memory card has the minimum required memory, try lowering the resolution and/or closing other applications that are running.

My point was that every generation comes up with dumb slang, and most of it fades out of regular usage as time passes.
